The Mad Dog battle was great but the rest of the action sequences were just as insane! What is everyone's thoughts on the score though? Haven't seen too many people talking about it on here. I thought Mike did a great job... the sound fits very well with the film.

Btw, I read that the director has two more films in The Raid series... will be interesting to see how the story pans out from here.

Looks compelling to me, Snail, if you know what I mean. I've already watched the nude scenes though, so I wouldn't ever watch the whole movie lol. Back dimples and ass crack. Nice pic choice.

Agent O, I thought the score was good enough. It did was it was supposed to do. It fit the scenes well and wasn't overpowering any of them. I guess I didn't notice a whole lot of variety, though. I haven't listened to his score yet. How many different songs did Mike make?

Hmm. I wonder how many were used in the movie. I kinda felt like they did the same thing with Trent in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, where they only played like 6 songs throughout the whole movie.

I think they used all of them (except for the GBC track) because the names of each song follow the plot of the story if you know what I mean.

Sidenote: Its reminiscent of what Reznor did in the two Fincher films. There are a lot of underlying similarities between Mike's style and Trent's.

Predictable part of the ending. but besides that was very enjoyable.

Just got out of Men In Black 3. It wasn't as "sad" as people built it up to be, but I really enjoyed it for not expecting much (I don't expect much from 3rd sequels...)

There is a nice twist at the end though.

Agent O, The Raid score was brilliant! It fit the movie perfectly imo.

Prometheus is getting pretty awful reviews. I'm disappointed. Probably won't go see it now.

Ahh, I guess I didn't check very well. Metacritic has it at 63%, but it's only a sample of 5.

Finally saw 21 Jump Street at the dollar theater in my area. Did not expect it to be that hilarious. I enjoyed it a lot.

Yeah, it was very funny. I hope Dave Franco gets a lot more work.

Prometheus getting meh reviews? That's insanely disappointing. I've been so pumped... going to the midnight show this Thursday.

Just saw Snow White and The Huntsman. Fucking Kristen Stewart...
The first half was actually promising (Charlize Theron is perfectly cast as the queen), but then somewhere around the halfway point... I stopped caring. And then Kristen Stewart's acting gets horrendously bad in the last half.

    The Machinist - 8/10

A very good psychological thriller. I can relate to Bale's character in some sense...[SPOILER-ish BELOW]

...Burying guilt is never the answer, and losing someone in your life really does something to your head. Things never do proceed the way they should, and life moves along feeling artificial at times.

Six to eight months, from my recollection. He came to Nolan after jumping from 120 lbs (approx) to 230 lbs, to which Nolan's response was to advise the actor to cut down his weight. Bale managed to cut down to 190 lbs as he hopped onto the set upon Batman Begins.

Bale is one hell of a method actor.

    Drive - 7.5/10

Very well done. Unfortunately as an avid Hong Kong/Asian cinema viewer, there was nothing unique that truly compelled me. Films like these are a dime a dozen over there.

While Drive is very well done, I feel like a lot of the creative choices feel pretentious. It looks sleek, but there's little to no substance backing it. I don't understand how anyone can praise Ryan Gosling's "performance" when the character calls for little range.

It was alright. Nothing special, considering its concept and themes (origin of mankind, meeting our makers)... there was a lot of potential there, but they choose to do it simple. But I liked for what it was.
