Wannabe Bourne minus all the answers revealed along the way and the ability to still remember how to kick ass - remembering during the last, literally 5 minutes of the movie doesn't count.

Green Lantern: 5/10
I watched it with my friend who is just an absolute Green Lantern fan. To be honest, the plot was really jumpy and not too great. But the CGI and several scenes had excellent action and decent stories. DC's just fallen behind Marvel and needs to improve for any future films like a Green Lantern 2. I have high hopes for the next one but my rating for this stands at 5/10.
P.S. My friend, however, did absolutely love the movie.
Green Lantern. Was just ok. Didn't expect much going in, so I enjoyed it ok.
Carolina - 9/10
I admitted I cried at the ending. It was good in a sense that it appealed to me as a woman and the fact that Julia Stiles was in it, and yes it was a chick flick and I have to admit I enjoyed it.
Avatar - 9/10
I so wished I could've seen this in 3D. I've always loved the graphics involved in this movie.
Pirates 3D (the new one) - 5/10
I forgot what the sequel was called to it, but it was the new Pirates of the Caribbean film with Penelope Cruz in it. I'm sorry but this was just an excuse for Johnny Depp to continue on as the infamous CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow. Nice it was in 3D.
Source Code - 7/10.
Pretty intertaining movie, with flavor of Quantum Leap or Deja Vu.
To make a proper Green Lantern origins movie would require a saga the length of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
The issue is that every superhero movie lately has been about a single person with a pretty simple origin.
Batman: Parents get shot, rich billionaire commits self to fighting crime.
Superman: Alien baby lands in farmland. Hilarity ensues.
Thor: He's a God. Um, he's a God.
Hulk: Radiation, man gets angry, shit hits fan.
Iron Man: Rich billionaire commits self to fighting crime.
Captain America: Man gets injected with supersoldier serum, kills Nazis.
The Green Lantern Corps history is so rich and varied that to explain it all would take forever. They could commit a whole movie to the history of Kilowog. Or Sinestro. Or any of the thousands of Green Lantern soldiers.
For the limits and constraints in storytelling DC had, they did an admirable job. And I mean, Hal Jordan isn't exactly a 'mainstream' superhero. This movie directly caters to comic book fans, and in that aspect, it wins spectacularly.
Besides, this movie was really just a huge set-up for Sinestro to get his yellow power ring. That's when the fun truly begins.

I think if you're a fan, or even knew a decent amount of Green Lantern history from the comics and such, you're not as disappointed watching the movie because you know all the little factoids. If you walked in to watch this movie without any prior knowledge of Green Lantern, you were walking in to just watch a movie, at which point, yes, the jumpy plot failed. I think fans love it because it stays true to the original comics and stories, but as a movie itself, all the cool ideas and effects could have been executed better.
Hall Pass - 2.5/5
There are actually some pretty good laughs in it, but there's not really a story that moves forward, probably because it takes too long to actually get some action. Literally.
Super 8 -8/10
I thought it was pretty good.
Meet the famous Potato.

The Road 7/10
What was with the cameos of celebrities throughout this movie? I don't think this was the post-apocalyptic movie I have seen, but it had its good moments. Viggo Mortenson (Aragorn from LOTR) plays a father to a ten year old (I think) who is struggling to keep them both alive through a world of cannibalism and distrust.
The Intepreter - 9/10
For a Nicole Kidman/Sean Penn movie I quite liked it. Dwelled on the African "Is this ethnic cleansing or is this a form of fighting terrorism?" issue that African countries are just so well known for nowadays.
Green Lantern. It was alright, but my date liked it.![]()
I saw Cars 2. My son enjoyed it. I then saw Kick-ass later. That movie was ca-razy.
If you haven't seen it yet, I challenge you to watch "Airheads" from 1994 with Brenden Fraser, Steve Buscemi and Adam Sandler. One of my childhood faves.![]()
HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED PICTUREBOARD YET?
The cycle repeated as explosions broke in the sky
all that I needed was the one thing I couldn't find
And you were there at the turn waiting to let me know
We're building it up to break it back down
We're building it up to burn it down
We can't wait to burn it to the ground
The colors conflicted as the flames climbed into the clouds
I wanted to fix this but couldn't stop from tearing it down
And you were there at the turn caught in the burning glow
And I was there at the turn waiting to let you know
You told me yes you held me high And I believed when you told that lie
I played that soldier you played king And struck me down when I kissed that ring
You lost that right to hold that crown I built you up but you let me down
so when you fall I'll take my turn and fan the flames as your blazes burn
The Prestige - Just got the DVD, been meaning to get it for ages. Fantastic film. The scene where Borden realises Lord Caldwell is actually Angeir is great. Also; David Bowie.
Grosse Pointe Blank - John (& Joan) Cusack. Quite funny, definitely worth a watch.
Up next, either Dumb & Dumber, Inglorious Basterds or The Fountain. Haven't decided yet.
Now I am become Death... Destroyer of Squirrels
“Here is my final point. About drugs, about alcohol, about pornography and smoking and everything else. What business is it of yours what I do, read, buy, see, say, think, who I fuck, what I take into my body - as long as I do not harm another human being on this planet?” - Bill Hicks
I saw a screening of, IMO, the best movie of the year: Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Don't believe the hate, come into it with an open heart and an open mind and you will NOT be disappointed. Plus the story and action are visibly there this time and "Iridescent" actually fits so well!![]()
Why shouldn't we believe the hate? It's a Michael Bay movie.
Saw Transformers.....definitely better than the second one, I'll say. And Iridescent actually does fit very nicely with the tone of the movie.
Don't go see it in 3D, though. Not worth the extra money.
From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) - 3.5/5
You can't go wrong with a Quentin Tarantino screenplay. Great little genre blending film that takes influences from action, comedy and horror. I laughed all the way through. Got some great gore and 90's special effects, reminiscent of The Thing.
