Psycho (1960) 5/5. I was mildly surprised by how gripping and suspenseful the movie was, even after so many years! Incredible performance by Anthony Perkins.

    Panic Room 3.5/5

Nope, don't have that channel here.

Just finished watching Ocean's Twelve. Talk about ridiculous plot line! It was such a huge step down from the first one. One of the things that I liked about 11 was that they robbed casinos and the setting was Vegas. There was a classic heist feel to it. The European setting in this one just didn't click right with me. But I did think that it was shot better than the last one. I liked some of the hand held shot used in this one. But in the end the script was just too ridiculous and it felt that the writers were trying too hard to make the loose ends meet by any means!

    Ocean's Twelve 1.5/5

    "Smart People" -- an all-around okay feel-good movie. :)

"American Psycho" -- was a little (just a little) more gut-wrenching than I thought it'd be. My friend who was watching it with me, he got pretty freaked out. He hadn't read the book.

I've seen "Ocean's Eleven" and "Ocean's Thirteen", but not "Ocean's Twelve". I don't think I'll want to see it, frankly, it doesn't appear to be that great and I pretty much figured out most of the plot just watching the other two anyway.

Really? I found Bale's performance funny lol.

Yeah don't watch it. How was Ocean's 13 btw? Some of the reactions I've read online don't make me wanna see it.

The Italian Job. Enjoyed it. Had a solid cast with a pretty decent plot. The action sequences were well done too. Would have been more thrilling if they threw in a few more obstacles though. They seemed to tackle everything with a little too much ease lol.

    The Italian Job 4/5

Oh, there were times where I laughed and Bale's performance is excellent. Just saying, the scene where [ Elizabeth and Christie are killed] left my friend kind of shaken which left me in a position where it was difficult to enjoy the remainder of the film. :) The book was a great read, though, and it's far more graphic, so that's funny.

"Ocean's Thirteen" was pretty good, I saw it in theatres about a month after its release -- I'm not a huge fan of any of the actors in the movie, nor do I really remember "Ocean's Eleven" too well (it's been a while) but I managed to enjoy "Thirteen" as a kind of standalone film, I guess.

I just finished watching "The Tracey Fragments"; the ending didn't satisfy me ... though it was probably meant to be ambiguous.

The Illusionist. It was okay. This movie is often compared to The Prestige, but the latter is far superior. Unlike The Prestige they couldn't ride the fine line between reality and supernatural at all. Lot of things were left unexplained. I usually enjoy watching Ed Norton act, but in this movie he seemed to hold back. The chemistry between him and the love interesting (Jessica Beil) wasn't present at all imo. But I did like Paul Giametti's acting a lot in this. He's brilliant! I also liked the ending, but it would have been way more effective if they gave logical explanation to some of the things that happened in the movie.

    The Illusionist 2.5/5

I actually rather liked his performance. The movie didn't measure up to the book for me, but I still liked it.

I just watched V For Vendetta last night, and again today, because I missed part of it, due to lack of sleep. I never thought I'd say this, but I liked it more than Fight Club*. 'Nuff said.

*Formerly my favorite movie of all time.

    Yes Man - 7/10

Expected more out of Jim Carrey on this one. Ah well, still a fan.

Oh I enjoyed his performance a lot too. I was just pointing out that it felt comedic at times.

And funny that you mention V For Vendetta. I've been meaning to check that one out.

    -

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I somewhat enjoyed the first one, but this sequel is just straight up garbage! The dialogs are some of the worst I've heard in a movie in a long time. Don't even wanna get into the millions of plot-holes and Michael Bay's idea of "comedy". Most people give this movie a pass solely based on the crazy CGI and action sequences. While I enjoyed those stuff, they are in now way enough to make the movie a good one.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen 1.5/5

Red Eye. Had great suspense almost throughout the movie, but it turned into an average thriller towards the end. Still enjoyed it.

    Red Eye 2.5/5

Land of the Lost. Had a few Will Ferrell moments, but overall it was pretty bad.

    Land of the Lost 1/5

    Repo! The Genetic Opera 5/5

Didn't really expect much but I fell in love with it. Total gore fest with a twisted plot and a great soundtrack.

    500 Days of Summer - 9/10

    Loved this film.

    Zombieland - 7/10

Hilarious. Unfortunately the whole fiasco upon the final act was pure stupidity on the characters' part imo.

V For Vendetta. I liked it. But it came off as a little melodramatic for my taste. Still a great performance by Hugo Weaving (even though we don't see his face lol).

    V For Vendetta 3.5/5

Year One. This movie was widely panned. But surprisingly I found it funny. It wasn't any Anchorman, but I still got some laughs out of it.

    Year One 2/5

    Charlie & Boots 9/10
Kenny and Paul Hogan together! That's an awesome combination.
Shane Jacobson plays the son who takes his father (Hogan) on a trip to fish on the northernmost tip of Australia because of something the father told him when he was a kid. Although he probably wasn't serious and can't remember it the son decides to carry it out. They travel on a road trip from Victoria to the Cape York Peninsula in a Holden Kingswood, passing through towns like Tamworth.

RIP Reg Evans who had a cameo in this before he died in the Victorian Bushfires and RIP the victims of the bushfires as this was tributed to those people.

In Bruges. Enjoyed this movie a lot but some of the scenes just take it too far, and I had to go like "that's just impossible". That took away from the experience a little. Other than that, it's shot brilliantly and the acting from all the 3 leads were great, especially Collin Ferrell.

    In Bruges. 4/5
