What movies did you recently watch?

Bride Wars - lol I don't know how I even started watching it in the first place.

6/10 - It's kinda funny and it has it's "awh" moments, but other than that, it's nothing than impressed me, just like any other movie these days

 

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

Meh. Nowhere close to being as good or plausible in comparison with X-men (2000) and X-2: X-Men United(2003), but most definitely better than X-Men 3: The Last Stand (2006). Logan a.k.a. Wolverine, is seemingly depicted as an indestructible being, endlessly throughout the film, and as a result there is no sense of consequence or fear for the main lead during said action scenes. In essence, the film was simply a flashy action flick, with a main lead who insisted upon numerous super-macho poses.

It's a good effort, but it'd definitely be a treat to see the franchise re-flourish in what Bryan Singer tried to establish in the first two X-Men live action films.

Assuming that this film receives an above average reception from the audience, I'm expecting to see the following films definitely underway in the near future:

X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2
X-Men Origins: Young X-Men

And...here's to false hope for an X-Men 4 with a returning cast directed by Bryan Singer, to give the whole franchise a satisfying closure.

1 /10 - Utterly pathetic with no redeeming qualities whatsoever
5 /10- Very, very average.
10/10 - Absolutely perfect by personal standards.

 

It's pretty inconsistent in a few different ways, but it's watchable I guess. It's probably on a par with The Last Stand. At times it is essentially a vehicle to introduce Gambit, Deadpool etc purely for the sake of being able to expand the franchise and have more material for future films, although I'm surprised I didn't see that coming.

No I thought at first but I liked it. Both Matthew Perry and Zac Efron are good and the story is great.

I don't get the confusion over that movie.

 

Star Trek last night. 8-9/10. As a pretty HXC (yeah I went there) Star Trek fan (although not Trekkie level [by a small margin]), I was very pleased.

 

Star Trek 10/10

Loved EVERY moment of it. I'm not a big Trekkie but I used to watch random episodes as a kid and always had a general knowledge of it.

 

J.J. Abrams has satisfied the trekkie in me. I lost hope after the last few movies, but damn I can't wait for the sequel.

 

Can a non-trekkie like me follow the plot?
