From the thunderstorms in the beginning and that ATS feeling to Mike's chilling singing to brads epic guitar riffs to robs insane drumming to Chester's angst. Is it the most Epic LP song ever made?. It feels like LP has put all their effort into this song. Is this the song that defines Linkin Park?
Wouldnt called the best to be honest , but in my opinion its on top of them. One of the hardest (sound and technical) songs they have ever written. Love the build up and the way Mike sounds in the whole song. Today, i looked for a sign / with flames in my hand / a line in the sand / between yours and mine Maybe one of my favorite lyrics from THP.
I don't think there's any single song that "defines" Linkin Park's entire body of work. As for whether or not it's the "best LP song", that comes down entirely to individual opinion, really
Yeah , the definition is a problem i THINK (you missed that wod in your first sentance #GrammarNazi ) . Would be interesting to talk about the best technical LP song , that could be worth a discussion.
Mike did say he felt like it does everything LP does in one song. But I would hardly say it represents their true diversity, considering songs like WFTE and COG exist. If GATS didn't exist, I would say it's pretty special. But GATS is much better imo, even if there's no screaming or raps from Mike. Since GATS is the only other song that could fit the description, I would say ALITS is LP's most 'epic', heavy, long, cinematic track, if that makes any sense.
I've been saying this since THP released. This has to be well liked by any LP fan, whether they are he Hybrid Theory Era or ATS era fans, or the electronic fans or heavy LP fans.
A Line In The Sand is Linkin Park firing on all possible fucking cylinders and the end result is glorious. The moment the guitar solo comes in and Chester begins his manic frenzy is unrivalled bliss. Mike's final words are both equally haunting and stunning.
It's the worst on the album and one of the worst in their discography. There fuckers, your truth has come.
Oh, its far from their best. It seems like they were going for this big, almost Progressive closer that really falls flat for me because: 1) Mike's awkward rap 2) Chester's horrible chorus 3) The weak guitar-work. A more fitting song for the posistion of "the best LP song" would be The Little Things Give You Away.
Oh Matt, you and your crazy threads... To answer your question: No. A Line In The Sand is just extended version of Victimized in my opinion. Nothnig special about it.
I like A Line in the Sand, I just don't see why people just keep going on about it. It's just a song to me, nothing special. I don't find anything particularly epic or climactic about the song. The guitar doesn't stir up anything in me, and the chorus seems rather weak for me. It almost seems like they felt that if Rob banged his drums really fast and hard while there was a solo going it would make the ending really climactic. But I don't get anything from it. However, I would hardly call it the worst in LP's discography. I still reserve that spot for War, which I have desperately tried to find some light in, but not succeeded. At least you can tell they tired to put some effort and creativity into A Line in the Sand. The title's already leagues more creative than the previously mentioned song.
