Recently, Mike Shinoda posted this instagram previewing the track "White Noise" from the Mall Soundtrack. It appears to have been mastered today, as well, so we should be seeing a release soon! http://instagram.com/p/uO314zjmSu/
Wait, so it hadn't been mastered when the film came out on Blu-ray? Also, does this hype-building mean we'll actually get a soundtrack release?
Well, maybe the rest of the band outvoted him there. Or maybe there were greater forces at work ... ▲▲▲
Assuming this means the OST is being released, "White Noise" could be the first single. Seems like its being used heavily among LP's posts recently (the youtube clip, instagram preview, and hashtag being used #WhiteNoise for Mike's latest post).

Anyone else prefer this version more? https://soundcloud.com/leftshoe18/linkin-park-mall-ost-extended-clip-credit-song To me it's more aggressive when it's sped up, you can hear the chorus riffs sounding more dynamic and it gives the song more energy.
I don't get why people like the sped-up versions at all. Whoever sped them up did an incredibly amateur job, the tempos don't even stay consistent, and the vocals have that chipmunk thing going on. I'm convinced that Linkin Park fans will ALWAYS prefer the first version of something that they hear.
Say that when demo versions of released songs come out on the next LPU CD and fans get all "WHY DIDN'T THEY USE THIS VERSION ON THE ALBUM?!!"
