Tool is my second favorite band, a very big metal act of the 90s , they have a lot of powerful songs
with the direction of THP that LP talks about, i feel like LP should go into a tool approach with their own
twist of heaviness like THP speaking about worldly things, personal evolution and so on, do you guys agree?
What approach should LP go for on LP7?

Making a new album every three or four years is long enough, I'd love to see them to follow that direction for just every now or then. LP does seem to have that kind of potential. They already gave themselves a "Post- 90's Radiohead" treatment while they were working on ATS and LT a bit.

They would need to care a whole lot more about creating songs that are expertly crafted. A Thousand Suns was their only album that came close to a Tool album I thought.

ATS is no where to being a tool heavy album, most of tool's albums are heavy last time i checked

He meant in terms of overall "weirdness", not necessarily heaviness. Tool is far more experimental than heavy.

Tool is both experimental and heavy, which LP can also be

ATS maybe the band's only prog-rock album, but most of the tracks (minus The Catalyst) weren't lengthy as most of the songs by Tool which would be another requirement to follow that direction.

    :toolbox:

We already have 30 threads for LP7. This could have been dropped in one of them.

Maybe LP should try and craft their own unique sound, rather than following in the footsteps of what another band has already done.
