That makes perfect sense. Although, you should probably tell the following bands how wrong they are to release a Greatest Hits record: Red Hot Chili Peppers - What Hits!? and Greatest Hits and 10 Great Songs Foo Fighters - Greatest Hits Bruce Springsteen - The Essential Bruce Springsteen The Eagles - Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975), and Eagles Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 Depeche Mode - People are People, The Singles 81>85, Catching Up with Depeche Mode, Depeche Mode Greatest Hits, The Singles 86>98, and The Best of Depeche Mode Volume 1 Radiohead - Radiohead: The Best Of and countless others. Shame on them. EDIT: Forgot another totally undeserved Greatest Hits record. EDIT 2: Forgot another totally undeserved Greatest Hits record. EDIT 3: And don't even get me started on Wu-Tang Greatest hits records. Jesus there are a lot.
These are all artists who have put out Greatest Hits albums while still making music afterwards. But surely bands like the Foo Fighters, RHCP, The Eagles, and Depeche Mode are wrong about when Greatest Hits albums are allowed to come out. Because these world-famous bands are clearly inferior to your stance on the matter.
Better question is why haven't they released an acoustic hits album. Jk, though I would really enjoy it, I don't see them ever producing it (except maybe for an LPU release).
