After a short teaser a few weeks ago, "Blockbuster Night Part 1," the first full-length track from the new Run the Jewels album, RTJ2, was released yesterday https://soundcloud.com/massappealrecs/rtj-blockbuster-night-part-1 Let us now discuss how fucking beast this is.
RTJ was fantastic, so I hope I don't get disappointed. This track is awesome, but it could very easily fit on RTJ. Hopefully the rest of the album covers a wider range.

MEOW THE JEWELS IS HAPPENING!!! I can't believe it! And as a producer I want to get my hands on those Just Blaze drum kits that he promised. Oh and:
Gotta give this album points for not boring me to death like most rap albums do. The production stood on the same level as the debut, which is impressive, and I feel like both of them brought out good stuff lyrically. A few questionable verses from Killer Mike flow-wise but not much to complain about. The girl verse in Love Again gave me the most awkward boner ever.
If I had a record player, I would totally buy RTJ2 on vinyl. It's that fucking good! It's too bad that the vinyl box set that came with the instrumentals are all sold out.
2. Oh My Darling Don't Cry 3. Blockbuster Night Part 1 4. Close Your Eyes (And Count to F-ck) [feat. Zack de la Rocha] is probably one of the best string of tracks on an album this year.
Right? After giving this some time to sink in, I think it's better than the first album now. The production is more cohesive, and the rhymes are tighter overall. The first album sounds like a really fun diversion (which is very appealing in its own right), whereas RTJ2 sounds more focused and purposeful.
