Yeah, I don't expect much out of this release. They've only gone down hill with their music releases since 2000. I really hope Chester learned a thing or two about not writing shit that he can't sing well naturally, because the songs they've performed from High Rise were super hit and miss, while anything written by Scott Weiland sounded fine.

Still very excited for new music, and I'd love to see them again on tour.

Chester did pretty good, I wouldn't mind more songs from him and STP.

    Better than nothing...

I didn't care much for High Rise. Dead by Sunrise was better IMO.

High Rise is amazing, so I am definitely glad a new album is in the works.
It'd be sick if its an LP instead of an EP :D
Chester can sing the shit out of STP tracks, just wish they performed all of High Rise, its very doable for him.

i think chester should give more of his time to STP, after all it was a huge band, and still have a big fanbase. cancelling concerts and not playing the new stuff live was not cool. of course it was for a good reason, but if he is going to let STP as an hobby then it would be better call someone else for the vocals. since with scott it wont happen

Since you brought up Dead By Sunrise, I would say that project is pretty much dead at this point. Chester has Linkin Park full time and Stone Temple Pilots full time as well and it seems like he is trying very hard not to make Stone Temple Pilots just a one time thing. I could see Chester doing both Linkin Park and Stone Temple Pilots the way he is doing it right now for the rest of his career, to be honest.

The guys in STP seem like pretty quick songwriters, I'm sure they COULD have an album out by the end of the year if they really wanted to...but 2014 is Linkin Park's year. I'm sure Chester will wait to put in a bunch of time on a new STP project until after this touring cycle starts to wind down. He has about a month off, so it's a good time to start writing, but I doubt they'll progress much beyond that before Carnivores starts. They may not even hit the studio at this point.

I can agree with all of this.

I knew DBS was dead after OOA tbh.

I'd like another Dead by Sunrise record. Yeah, most of the lyrics were pretty bad, but I enjoyed the music. I have to agree that it's unlikely to ever happen though.

this is cool. will definitely keep an eye on this. wonder if this will open the door for any new scores / FM material from Mike.

also DBS was pretty cool. i liked the different direction.

am i the only one that loves DBS? i honestly think its better than most of LP stuff.

Condemned is heavier than most of LP heavy songs, amazing screams. My Suffering is badass too
Walking in Circles is dark and amazing
End of the World got some cool lyrics, very different from LP usual lyrics
    In the Darkness is beautiful
all the ballads are great, Let Down specially

and the vocals are incredible, its probably chester's best vocal delivery in studio

i also like STP a lot. i wish chester could work on both bands

I'm looking forward to this! I think both Chester's writing and singing is way better with STP than LP, so yeah excited to see what comes out of this :)

Honestly, I've felt Chester's vocals didn't really fit very well to the STP sound, but I do find it a lot more listenable then the old vocalist, who turned me off of the band until he left. And to be honest, the more I listen to it, the more Chester here grows on me. And after watching a little STP W/CB live shows, Chester freaking rocks the front-man position here, loving the energy being with STP is bringing out of him.

And to quickly jump onto that topic, I dig Dead By Sunrise, a lot.
