"Comparison rating" isn't an established term, but that's the phrase I think of when I think of ratings such as this: A > B = C > D. Call it a tier or whatever. So now that The Hunting Party has been made available, what would yours be of Linkin Park albums? I understand it might be too early to judge, though. Also, I know some of you have already posted ratings with your reviews, but I want a thread just for this. Not just for ratings, but also for discussion on the relationship between the albums, and how The Hunting Party stands as a point in the band's career.
Before THP: ATS > HT > LT > M > MTM THP falls in there somewhere. Compared to Living Things, as the bands previous effort, THP is a much more cohesive album, one with a theme and a genre running through it, instead of jumping from folk to dubstep. It's a big step up for the band instrumentally and lyrically. Practically, start playing the bands discography to someone, and put it after HT and Meteora, no one would notice. But, that doesn't mean I enjoy it more than Living Things. LT is a collection of, at least to me, great songs. But all of this is fragile after just four listens. We'll see what it is in a few weeks.
HT= MT= MTM = ATS = THP > LT ( As a fan) After much thought : MT>HT =THP > ATS > MTM >>LT Adding the remix albums... MT= Reanimation > HT =THP > ATS > MTM >>LT >>>>>>>>>>>> Recharged I have a hard time trying to rank LP albums every fucking time...
Right now... A Thousand Suns > Reanimation > Minutes to Midnight > Hybrid Theory > The Hunting Party > Meteora > Living Things > Recharged That doesn't mean I thought THP was bad though... I loved THP. The only album I'm kind of "meh" about is LT. EDIT: And if we throw Reanimation and Recharged in there...
Yeah, I'm expecting it to be avaliable to order on Thursday, and hopefully delivered on Friday. That's the way it was with Ghost Stories. I'll go ask them on Fb.
