Hey everyone, So right now I'm wanting to find music that has some specific characteristics. I'm looking for songs that have bursts of anger and rage with screaming (not the kind of screaming you find in post-hardcore genre but more like bursts that come in at different times), pretty much like in LP's "Victimized" or in "Blackout", or even that raging bridge scream Chester did back when LP covered "Wish" by Nine Inch Nails. However there are so many bands out there that are heavy and do screams that I don't know where to start, so I thought asking fellow LP fans here I could get some good suggestions, any recommendations? Note: Please do not spam the page with embedded videos, just put links instead, otherwise the page for some people (including me) won't load!
It's kind of hard to understand what kind of music you are looking for but I will list some aggressive albums with screaming on them(none of them are really metal btw): Should it heavier? or do you want some specific songs?
Thanks for suggesting those Gonna need some time to go through them, they are heavy enough, though I can listen to heavier I'm looking more for specific songs, particularly ones that don't have verses being screamed out like in post-hardcore songs, but more with clean or raspy singing and incorporating some aggressive screams bursting out at different points in the songs, just like in Victimized and Blackout as I mentioned previously.
I feel that there aren't that many LP songs that have these characteristics, plus I'm looking for other bands with their own sounds too.
Dangerkids? From Ashes To New? For Today? Let me know if you like one of them, and I can try and get some more names within that genre.
BMTH. Bit heavier than you are saying, but you'll like it. Start with Sempiternal, and then go backwards with the albums. For a test: ''And The Snakes Start To Sing'' and ''Shadow Moses''.
Killswitch Engage? (Not many screams with this band, but they're so good) Killer Be Killed? (ya got three metal vocalists) System of a Down? Just short bursts
Should I go softer?
That song doesn't have the intense screaming I'm looking. I liked LP's cover of "Wish" more than the original because of the intense screaming Chester did (some of his best screams in his career so far I think). Trent Reznor didn't seem like the artist who delivers that aggression vocally (to me), but if you could suggest any NIN songs with some killer screams that would be great
Really like Dangerkids, Bring Me The Horizon was pretty good but didn't have intense screaming like I had hoped Like I mentioned earlier I'm not looking for the screaming associated with post-hardcore where verses are screamed rather than sung clean, but more for songs that have singing or raspy vocals with intense screams bursting in at different times throughout
Thanks for suggesting this, it's actually pretty close to what I asked for and has some really nice screams! Digging this band, listened to Return To The Closet which I really liked too Edit: Guys I'd appreciate it if no more embedded videos are posted and if anyone can change their post with embedded videos to just have links. Seriously, I had to go on a different computer to load up this page and even then the embedded videos won't load cause I simply cannot have 30+ of those on one page!
You just heard the wrong BMTH song. Like I said, go for Shadow Moses or And The Snakes Start to Sing. Can You Feel My Heart is one of their softest tracks. Snakes might just be exactly what youre looking for.
