LP aren't the best songwriters but they do have the occasional songs that are great lyrics-wise. My picks: 1. Little Things Give You Away (that "Don't wanna reach for me do you..." part really hits!) 2. Shadow of the Day 3. Hands Held High (best shit Mike has ever written imo) Yep, coincidentally all three songs are from MTM.
The Little Things Give You Away Hands Held High Burning in the Skies Honorable Mentions: Iridescent, Roads Untraveled
All of A Thousand Suns, great lyrics front to back. Other than that, The Little Things Give You Away, Castle of Glass, Roads Untraveled and I'll Be Gone(the song is kind of shit but the lyrics are great)
Shit, just three? 1. The Little Things Give You Away 2. Roads Untraveled 3. Hands Held High Honorable Mention: Robot Boy All four of those songs are in my top 5 favorite Linkin Park songs.
1) Hands Held High (Very strong message and well written, IMO) 2) Burning In The Skies (I really like the imagery in the verses and the chorus is simple, yet epic) 3) Robot Boy (Well written lyrics and have a strong message)
1."Burning in the Skies/The Little Things Give You Away" 2. "Castle Of Glass" 3. "The Catalyst/Roads Untraveled/Robot Boy".
Shame it doesn't exist. - WTCFM, followed by WTCFM, followed by WTCFM. Of course, I'm incredibly biased because I adore that song.
Funny how different people's opinions are. A few people listed "Hands Held High" while a reviewer back in 2007 described it as "far and away the funniest thing you will hear all year". I'm personally somewhere in between on that song. I don't think it's that masterfully written, nor do I think it's "funny".
Hard question. I don't believe Linkin Park are lyrically geniuses at all, to be honest. However, here goes my list: Pushing Me Away Iridescent Shadow of the Day I do not listen to Linkin Park for their lyrics though. You simply cannot compare them to a lot of artists (hint: for example my profile picture). Obviously they are not the worst band out there when it comes to lyrics either. Favourite piece of lyrics from Linkin Park for me has to be this one (from Pushing Me Away): “When i look into your eyes There's nothing there to see Nothing but my own mistakes Staring back at me."
