The average movie goer is probably unaware that Tom Hardy was Bane, he was masked the whole time. Though it doesn't take much to look at a casting list, the casual viewer won't. It would be weird to have Bane play Batman, but it is a different universe. I think he would be a great choice, at least in my opinion.
ah man, It would be great to see Christian Bale again, but it makes much more sense starting from scratch and introducing a new Batman to the DCU. Theres no way Bale will come back now. this'll be another 10 year comitment to his life, with not just this movie, but the future Justice league movie. "oh lets get back back for MOS2, but then recast him for JSA." that'll make absolutely no sense. True, it's a shame they can't continue and share the same continuity of the TDK trilogy, considering of the writers/producers/composers where involved in that too, but now's a good time for a fresh start. I just hope they choose wisely. I do like the idea of an older "prime" Batman though. Josh Brolin would be an unexpected choice, but he has the look & acting chops to do Bruce justice.
Wes Bentley will be great in terms of both looking the part and age (34) I also read somewhere that he's Chris Nolan's choice too. He's also in the new Nolan film.
Terrible choice. He already played Daredevil (badly). Is there such a lack of talent in Hollywood now?! I don't know what their justification is for choosing him but right now I can't connect the dots at all. Affleck is a great director and I liked him in Argo... seems like he's gone through a big transformation ever since he started directing so who knows he might pull a Heath Ledger on us.
Exactly, like they did with Supes. It's such an uninspired and lazy choice too. Ben Affleck is too goofy to pull of Batman's grimness. I think Wes Bentley would've made a great Batman... he was Chris Nolan's choice too.
I cannot see Ben Affleck pulling off a Heath Ledger. I think it's going to be more like Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.
