With the merging of our three Your Projects subforums into a single forum, some confusion has arose as to which threads are for art, music, or writing projects. For this reason we have added coloured Thread Prefixes for the Your Projects forum only, so that specific projects can be easily identified upon entering the forums. Simply choose "Artwork", "Music" or "Writing" from the Prefix dropdown menu at the top of the page when making a new thread in these forums. If you have recently posted a thread in the Your Projects forum and wish to have a prefix added in, simply post in this thread within the next week and I will edit it in. After that, the responsibility will be yours to choose prefixes for any newly created threads. Hoping you enjoy and make use of this feature! LPA Staff
Question. What about old posts? Will a thread posted in the original Writers Cove automatically have the coloured prefix? Can we search via colour prefix?
Looking at previous threads before this one, it looks like most of them have the prefixes added on. And I looked at the Advanced Search and yes, you can search prefixes as well.
It doesn't look like any of my old writings have a prefix, so probably only recent threads have the prefix added. I wonder if it is possible to label all threads after a certain date with the correct prefix, I personally have too many threads to go about posting in each one individually.
No, older threads do not automatically have prefixes. I only added prefixes for most of the threads on the first page to increase the visibility of the new feature. I do not believe you have the capability of searching by prefix, but I haven't checked and I'm on mobile. Most threads in the Your Projects forum die within 2-4 weeks anyways. Didn't see the point of adding prefixes to dead threads. But like I said, if someone wants me to add a prefix to a specific thread(s), i'm happy to accommodate.
Honestly, I think this idea would be great to implement in The Living Room as well. Have prefixes for music, movies, tech, and more.
Sorry, that is not possible. If you cannot choose, perhaps it's best to choose neither. We'll definitely take it into consideration based on how well it's adopted here.
Quick question. I know it seems like a stupid question, but does anybody mind novels and short stories on this sub-forum? Because it seems like all the "writing" threads seem to be just poems and un-recorded lyrics. Just want to make sure
