I wouldn't want to get picked because I would get a heart attack from the excitement and die...and I don't want to die yet
So WB/LP's plan is to create a myriad of contests in which no one will ever win in an effort to troll the community or what?
Whatever happened to that BID video contest? Remember that? It just faded away. Sorry for double post, don't hit me
Sorry, I just can't believe that Warner/Linkin Park/ Trollnoda could manage all of these contest so horribly, unintentionally. They have to be purposely shitting us, come on!
You really can't believe Warner could screw up so terribly? Have you been living under a rock and just so happened to miss this clusterfuck of an album cycle? The fact they have at least an album left on the contract is frightening. Can't imagine how many more poorly run contests, and last minute announced singles/compilations WB can do for the next album cycle.
Of course I believe it. I was just being silly and came up with a ridiculous plot that they were intentionally trolling the community. And yes, the way they handled the album cycle and contests is damn frightening. 1. Horrible Living Things Remixed. No variety, very repetitive. 2. Marketing. Clusterfuck. 3. Singles. Release dates and even the fact of making people aware of what is and what is not a single. 4. Music videos. Lost in the Echo. What the fuck was that? Anyway, it's disappointing indeed.
Reflectionist is correct. This is not like other contests where it's one entry per person (regardless of donation). Ergo, the more money you donate to charity, the more likely you are to win. This is a clever way to get charity money, so I can't really fault them on this. This would be a problem in talent-based contests (eg, the ongoing T-shirt contest), but since this is essentially a random lottery I don't see any ethical qualms about it. The other side of the coin is that there may be so many participants that I really doubt someone who spent a bunch of money may make a significant dent in the odds. Now, each ticket would multiply your individual chances, but you're still unlikely to win.
Holy Moses smokin' with Jesus, a new album already? I know, before you say anything, wait another three years, blah blah blah...but still. At the very least, they've been in the studio a lot since ATS.
