-A Thousand Suns is BY FAR their best album, and one of the most underrated albums in recent memory -In my young concert-going career, I have seen LP 3 times, Foo Fighters twice, Coldplay, and Muse. If I had to rank them, the 3 LP shows would be at the bottom. To be honest though, I think the main problem isn't necessarily LP's ability to play live. It's more that their old hits (which I understand they have to play) are simply not good songs compared to the old hits of many other bands. Everlong and Supermassive Blackhole are better than most songs on Hybrid Theory/Meteora, for example. -The Reanimation version of Points of Authority is the band's most overrated song -Collision Course is one of the Linkin Park's career highlights. That shit was so awesome. -Fort Minor is underrated. There are a lot of really decent tracks on The Rising Tied. -Most if not all of the band's political songs are really good.
Don't worry, I feel the same too Though I must admit that Metora is probably the bands weakest album, by all means I still am quite fond of it. ATS is far and away LP's best album from a musical standpoint. HOWEVER The Hybrid Theory EP is easily the most underrated release the band has ever made and I'd go as far to say is their best release next to ATS and Reanimation. and in my opinion is still beter than Hybrid theory itself. the HTEP is easily Brads best work from a guitar standpoint and probably as with the rest of the bands creativity, musicianship and lyrics/ Apart from that, I'd said Dead By Sunrise's Out of Ashes is unfairly criticized. Its a great rock album, and in my opinion its only weak point is its over the top production and mixing. Those are my unpopular opinions!
The band needs to stop playing One Step Closer live. I know it was their first hit but it just comes off so fake from a bunch of 30-year-olds. The band has matured, why can't their setlists?
Chester's choruses are boring as hell. He needs to incorporate more soulful singing and actually use the hard rock voice he was blessed with. We all agree that he nailed "Rolling in the Deep" and is consistently great when performing with Camp Freddy, yes?
I think that if Chester were to quit the band for any reason the band could still survive. On the other hand, I think if Mike were to give up on the band, the changes aren't too great.
Holy shit, way to generalize everyone. I can easily appreciate A Thousand Suns, Meteora - name it. I'm sure many others here could. Yes!
this and Mike is a good rapper but not top 10, 15, ect (not sure where I'd put him) UIB is more times annoying than good Brad's part on UIB is the best part of the song
-Brad is not a really good guitarist -What I've Done is one of their best songs -A Thousand Suns is overrated on this forum (don't get me wrong, I love that album, but I see too many people praising ATS as if it was a masterpiece that music history waited for) -Living Things was a good follow-up of ATS. An ATS 2 would have been disappointing. -Robot Boy is boring Thank you, Sir. Someone had to say that. I'm so tired of Meteora-bitching. It's ridiculous.
- Chester mellow voice can be annoying at times - Rob might be the most skilled instrument player in the band
^ For sure. People judge him unfairly that way; Fort Minor notwithstanding, he raps as part of a band, not as a solo artist.
