Paramore have debuted their first song from their forthcoming self-titled album, the track titled "Now" is definitely the sound of a new Paramore. "Now" can be heard directly via SoundCloud and can also be heard whilst one checks out the pre-order incentives available on the official Paramore website. Paramore's self-titled fourth studio album will be available from April 9. — I'm definitely curious as to how y'all feel about this one.
Definitely more punk. Instantly recognizable from the first click. Also kind of reminds me of Ting Tings. Hayley's voice is still amazing but the instrumental and the melody just isn't catchy right now. Will have to take another listen when I'm more awake
They sound like any random indie/alternative/rock band, but with Hayley on vocals. That's not enough to actually make it a listenable song, for me.
Pretty predictable and repetitive, the drums are the shit as usual but the bass and guitar should be more upfront.
I like the singing, the instrumental is a bit bland though. Hoping the rest of the album is a lot better.
Just listened to it for the second time. I'm not a big fan of it. While it isn't bad, it isn't brilliant either, and it didn't impress me. The verses are fine, the pre-chorus is even great, but the chorus is just plain bad. I don't like how electronic the separated "now" sounds, and I think it's too quiet. Maybe it'll sound better in live shows. The chorus, for me, ruined what could have been a great track, and it isn't even as catchy as it was supposed to be. The bridge, and the track as a whole as well, are decent. It didn't live up to other post-Farro songs, especially Monster or In the Mourning. Still excited for the album, though, and I really hope it will be better than this.
Okay, I've given it time and now this song is but one thing to me: Super catchy. Okay, the actual musicianship of the song is not high whatsoever, but it's catchy. So for now I like the song. But I would not be surprised if it gets old really fast. Especially if I have to hear it on the radio all the time.
So, the video's out. What the hell, Paramore? Are you fucking kidding me?
What the actual fuck was that? And no offense but Hayley somehow looks horrible, fuck this. I do not like where they are going. 'ahh we're so fucking edgy leading a team of rebels, lets appeal to all the hipster kids' No, just no.
I saw the video premiere on MTV and was somewhat disappointed. Didn't really catch my attention that much and Hayley's appearance caught me off guard a bit. Not trying to say its all about her image, but in my opinion it was a bit strange and off putting.
