Linkin Park studio album collection to be released on January 15

    Details regarding a Linkin Park retrospective album collection to be released by Warner Bros. Records have appeared online.

    Listings on the Australian iTunes and U.S. Amazon stores reveal that the digital album will contain music from the band's five full-length studio efforts as well as the 2002 remix album "Reanimation". According to Amazon, it will be available for customers in only a couple of days' time on January 15.

    It appears that the collection will only be released digitally; there is no indication at this point that a physical release is in the works. No other announcements by the band or their label regarding this release have been made.

    No. It's not really a greatest hits. The tracklist has already been released. It's as follows

    1. Hybrid Theory (the album)

    2. Meteora (the album)

    3. Reanimation (the album)

    4. Minutes to Midnight (the album)

    5. A Thousand Suns (the album)

    6. Living Things (the album)

    Greatest Hits are usually just collections of about 20 songs with a few unreleased songs thrown in to spice things up. This is just an album collection with no bonus material.

    I just feel like LP hasn't been around enough to warrant this, but tons of studios have been doing this. Chevelle and Breaking Benjamin both have just recently released "greatest hits" packages and it's just like... why?
