After a three week break, tomorrow Linkin Park will continue the Living Things World Tour by playing a show for the first time ever in Cape Town, South Africa at Cape Town Stadium. This will be the first time in the band's history that they have performed in South Africa. To go along with their first ever outing on the continent they'll also be hosting an International LPU Summit, which have been previously held in London, Tokyo, Sydney, Hamburg, Chicago and most recently New Jersey. This will be one of two shows in South Africa with the second taking place November 10th in Johannesburg, South Africa at the Soccer City FNB Stadium. Linkin Park are coming off their first leg of the Living Things World Tour which concluded in Porto Alegre, Brazil on October 12th. This year Linkin Park have been rotating between a really energetic set of songs, which includes a great mix of all their albums, however Linkin Park are yet to play a number of tracks from their latest release Living Things with I'LL BE GONE, CASTLE OF GLASS, SKIN TO BONE, UNTIL IT BREAKS, ROADS UNTRAVELED and POWERLESS still yet to be seen performed live. Mike Shinoda stated in an LPU chat that these two dates in South Africa could see new songs added to the set so maybe we'll see some of those tracks debut in Cape Town. With CASTLE OF GLASS gaining momentum with its impending single release, this leg would be the perfect time to debut the song live. What do you think? The Cape Town LPU Summit will take place before the live show on the 7th at roughly 10AM local time, with the Linkin Park team already spending today planting trees to benefit Music For Relief with children. The Cape Town Summit will consist of meet & greets with Linkin Park, backstage tours, walking across the stage, a jam band using LP's gear, watching soundchecks, acoustic sets by Linkin Park, Q&A's and more. There will also be a limited edition LPU t-shirt available that is exclusive to the Cape Town Summit. If the band opt to perform acoustically, it's always interesting to see what they play, with IN MY REMAINS being performed in Camden, NJ. Who's attending the LPU Summit and heading to Linkin Park's first ever show in South Africa? Let us know if you're attending and what you want to see from these two shows on the LPA Forums. You can also tweet us at @LPAssociation. We'd love to see your pictures and if you can help us out with setlist details that'd be great. Still bummed that I won't be able to attend the summit, but beyond excited to see LP live for the first time on November 10th! If I see POWERLESS live I can die happy
k;ajkfl;dasjklfda I'm so proud of this band! They do so much, it's really unbelieveable. Makes me so proud to be a soldier I hope the crowd shows LP that they need to come back there more after these concerts are over xD. I'm sure everyone will have a great time!
Loved all the photos/videos the crew posted on Twitter about the tree planting, sounds like a great experience. Everyone who's going tomorrow, enjoy the Summit and the show
Would really enjoy hearing a live version of CASTLE OF GLASS this time around, now that it's officially a single. Hope all those going to the concerts and summit have an amazing time. The show is incredible and the summit truly is a once in a lifetime experience.
Not to be racist/discriminatory or anything, but does anyone know ANY source where the setlist is being updated live?
And it´s official...the lazy Linkin Park 2012 begins!!! The guys couldn´t put ONE new song on the set? C´mon...
Thanks! Will take lots of them. I am a bit disappointed at the lack of changes to the setlist but oh well, it'll be a blast from the looks of it.
