Because it's totally a good idea to put new songs in the setlist when you haven't had a chance to rehearse any.
The album just came out and i´m missing something? How there´s not enough time for them to rehearse their own songs? Apart from the songs they´ve been playing the whole summer and South America tour they had 3 weeks to learn at least one new song.
They're playing in a place that has wanted them for 12 years now. I highly doubt that anyone going to the show cares what they play.
Did I said that people would complain? I´m just making a point about repeated set list...that´s it...people need to stop being so "oh my god Linkin Park is perfect in every aspect"...it´s not allowed to make a negative comment?
I never said LP is perfect. My problem is their fans just have a tendency to phrase their criticisms disrespectfully. It's amazing how a band can constantly tour and write music, interact with their fans to the extent they do, give an album's worth of demos every year, and revamp their setlist only a few months ago to accomodate those same fans, and still have to deal with comments like, "the lazy Linkin Park 2012 begins!!!"
Usually if someone bad mouths the band i'll be all over that dude. But what murphyLP said is true. How are you promoting an album that was released a few months back by not playing half of the songs on it? Don't play songs like skin to bone and Until it Breaks etc, cause THAT might take time to rehearse. I'll be gone is a straight up rock track. They don't need time to rehearse that song. In my Remains is a harder song with all the synths in it. You have to at least play the singles. Castle of Glass ain't being played and neither is powerless. Bands like Muse, Green day, Coldplay play the entire album when it's just released. I'll tell you one thing. Living Things album promotion is pathetic.
If it takes them 6 weeks to rehearse three sets (the case with the HCT, two of which are just revised versions of previous sets), I think they could of rehearsed ONE song in 3 weeks. Maybe in Johannesburg, but probably not FUCK THIS ALL: - Scaffold fell due to strong winds (Evidenced here: viddy.it/VTkfur) - Up to 20 people hurt. Rumors of deaths. - Happened outside the venue so the stage is fine. Broke a promotional stage. - Police everywhere. - Deaths are NOT CONFIRMED PICS: https://twitter.com/metrobabe/status...860608/photo/1 http://lockerz.com/s/259625710 TWEETS:

Other Notes: - First time in South Africa and the continent of Africa. - The 7th LPU Summit was held before the show. - The sound was very bad on the floor, possibly due to the strong winds muffling the sound, so many people left after the first few songs. - Before the show, a large scaffold fell due to powerful wind injuring several people and damaging part of a promotional stage. I'll edit this post if anything changes. Looks like setlist has changed slightly. I'm retweeting setlist updates live here.

While it's true that most parts of Africa are without technology/electricity, thankfully here in SA we're on par with the rest of the world. Really quite sad, this scaffold incident, apparently it was due to engineering negligence, these people should get refunds!
I know SA is one of the more technologically advanced countries in Africa. I kinda had a mindfuck and the time I said that Was Papercut really dropped? I'm not sure because people keep saying GU came after Faint.
