Yeah, if that's true then it would make sense. Then I'm also not sure how to interpret the song, unless it's just about bootleggers of all kinds.
Imagine the look on the guy's face if he ever heard the song and ever found out that it was him that they had recorded. Don't know if he would be flattered for the fact they used his voice for the song or embarrassed being caught out selling unofficial stuff from the band that he was trying to rip off.
Even though the speech is what it is, I still don't think the song is about bootleggers at all. I think the tone of the speech fit the darkness of the song, therefore, they used it.
Just because it is part of the song doesn't mean it has to be canon. That would be like trying to organize all of the Legend of Zelda games into a coherent chronological order.
lol the first time i heard it ... i thought it was... Right, only one. leaving me Linkin Park and gone back to you. You left only one, pass popcorn back to you. LOL need to get my ears check. xDDDD
You realize that Nintendo released the official canon timeline for the Zelda series last year right? ...I mean there are three parallel universes that the games take place in but that's besides the point.
It is the point! How the hell could anyone deduce by themselves that there are three parallel universes???????? A different example then? Just because the Star Wars Christmas Special exists doesn't mean it has to exist.
Did I get it across this time? I hope so because I am running out of examples. I'm struggling to think up real world examples instead of hypothetical situations like this dream I had once where I went to see a live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
I decide to take a peek at the Linkin Park sub-forums for the first time in, like, a week and this is what I come across.
I actually think Victimized is the band striking back against Nu-metal fans and haters in general. In both lyrics and instrumentation. "They're acting like they want a riot, it's a riot I'll give 'em" "For you snakes in the grass, supplying the venom, I ain't scared of your teeth I admire what's in 'em"
It's about how nu-metal fans feel they've been victimized in that they are labeled haters for their struggle to accept the band has changed.
