Anyone remember this? I haven't listened to it in a few years, I guess, but I've always loved the track. Anyway, what's the deal with this song? Has Mike ever actually confirmed his presence in it? We all know it's him, he shared it on his blog and his voice is recognizable, but did he actually say it's him? How did the idea of recording actually come? There were rumors that the Mark guy singing in it is Mark Wakefield, but I don't really remember seeing it confirmed anywhere. I feel like this song came out and went completely forgotten, without even basic information being given about it.

Mike "confirmed" pretty much all that needs to be known about this track in an interview at one point, he sidestepped a question about it and pretty much said "I can't confirm anything, but if it turned out to be something I was involved in (wink wink nudge nudge), it'd be a lot like some of the joke songs Mark and I would record for fun back in the day." I'm definitely paraphrasing there as I can't find the interview, but yeah, it's definitely Mark Wakefield on there, and I'd assume Mike played all the instruments himself (the drums are programmed, the keys, bass, and rhythm guitar are all really simple stuff).

Also, for a better reference point on this song, go listen to "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake, as Barack Your World is pretty much a parody of it, even down to some of the scenes in the music video.

That's because the song was a joke and no one really cared about it. Look how much in depth discussion there is about the LPU 8 CD. (AKA Mmmm...Cookies)

Haha, it's great to dig that out again. I like joke songs, they make our fan lives a little happier.

I love how the guitar solo blows anything Brad's ever done out of the water.

    Not really.

Solos like that are relatively easy. Songs like Forgotten, for example, are way way harder than they sound.

Since when did forgotten get a guitar solo? or any song from the first two albums for that matter lol XD
Not to be a dick, but he got a point, this solo isn't amazing but neither is any of Brads solos xD
Brad has madee cool riffs, and nice sounding solos, but not anything so impressive skill wise.

    Solos don't = harder.

The riff from Forgotten is harder to play than any of Brads solos, or the solo in Barack Your World. In my opinion, as a guitarist.

Can't believe I just saw this now. It's hard to tell if it's Mike, but I guess he sang like that to disguise it a little bit. Hilarious lyrics.

First verse/choruses are Mark Wakefield. Second verse is Mike.
