Okay I just ripped my copy of Frat Party At The Pancake Festival in .AVI format.

It sounds simple enough, but when I open it. Not only do I see my .Avi files, I also get .sub and .idx files.

I thought .sub would be it in subtitles. Alright simple enough, but when I try using VLC player, it doesn't play.... Weird. So then I use my Media Player Classic.... Nothing plays.

1 - What are these files
2 - How can I play them, or at least convert them into something where I can play them?

From what I can find online, it looks like they are indeed subtitle files.

Just open the .avi file in VLC and it should have subtitles if the .sub and .idx are in the same folder as the .avi
