System Of A Down guitarist Daron Malakian and bassist Shavo Odadjian have commenced the songwriting process for the follow-up to 2001's "Toxicity", tentatively due to be recorded in October/November for a mid-2004 release.

"It's going to be pretty revolutionary," Odadjian told mtv.com. "We're taking everything we've done and canning it. We're starting fresh as a brand new band. So you're going to hear this new music. It's going to be System, but it's going to be a new tip. We did what we did, and at first people were like, 'They're doing something no one's done.' Now we're going to do something else that will get the same kind of reaction."

Odadjian also revealed that he is currently working with an as-yet-undisclosed group "of people from other bands you know" and has approached Rick Rubin about producing the project.

"I don't want every member of System to have their own label. It will be like a circus," Shavo said. "But if I have to start my own label just for them, I'll do it. I don't like record company people very much, so I don't want to be one of them. Only if I really, really love the band."

Sounds like something that SOAD would do! Anyways can't wait and I wanted to spread the word to all the System fans out there!

This was for SOAD fans as I clearly stated, we all know your dislike for them. Unfortunately you don't have any respect for other people's opinions. :wth:

IMO System Of A Down is comprised of superior musicians to Linkin Park who play much more original music and are much more talented and actually try to make a difference in the world. If you've ever listened to any of their stuff, especially 'STA!' you should at least have some respect for them...

    1. I DIDN'T double post.
    2. I made examples of things like LB (1 of 3) that stand for exactly what music is NOT about! Making music (mainly bad music) basically just for money...

And sorry about that its just that I really admire that band, and I got all angry which I don't normally do! :D I understand that you don't like them but some people here have to broaden their horizons and discover more about music. I listen to some rap/metal and hard rock, but I also like listening to heavier metal, progressive rock/metal, and also some classical, jazz, and blues stuff. I play saxophone and I used to play piano and I really want people to get into other styles and explore more stuff! I might have been overreacting but that's something I believe strongly in!

    that's double posting.

and i resent your second opinion. i like so many bands that have never been played on MTV or Muchmusic. Just because I'm not into Tool, a band that rarely gets airplay, like you, it doens't mean i'm some mainstream music freak.

I respect and like S.O.A.D, some songs just ramble on into nothingness, but alot of the songs have good meanings, riffs, vocals and lyrics.

Seriously, that double post is NOT on my screen. Actually, there is only one quote of each quote in your reply.

I apologize for that last statement though. I was being pretty ignorant. It was in the heat of the moment and I was kinda mad, so I will edit that post...

I hope it would be good enough for fans to start liking their music again, like me.

And their last album was just old songs, b-sides and demos. Songs that didn't make it to the actual albums.
