http://www.rollingstone.com/music/n...noda-on-the-bands-personal-new-album-20120620 So says Rolling Stone. I do not know how I feel about this. I feel like Lost in the Echo is the perfect track to act as a liason to not so devoted fans, even though I'll Be Gone may have more radio potential...Thoughts?
This song was the first to really stay in my head after 1 listen. I think this is best song to use as a first single, it's a shame they unleashed BURN IT DOWN instead, which is an obnxious abomination compared to the rest of the album.
Hopefully it's a Rolling Stones fail. It's a good song, but there's a lot more songs more deserving of being the 2nd single.
Again, I think Rolling Stone messed up. Why would they say first single? BID was first single so it would be second single. I think they messed up. LITE or CoG will be next single. Hopefully LITE, as it could easily get old school fans attention if they already haven't been paying attention to LT EDIT: also with the ATS case the two songs that were on it ended up becoming singles if I remember correctly
I hope this is false.. I like I'll Be Gone but there are better songs to showcase. It would be a horrible choice.
"A lot of the songs have metaphors, and one of the metaphors in that song is space. [The visual artists] picked up on that language and turned it into this weird, intergalactic space travel thing." Sounds like BURN IT DOWN.
Around the albums release date, they have to release a single which will satisfy all the fans, the hardcore ones, the ones who want rap, and the ones who love electronics and singing. Lost In The Echo would be a perfect choice.
Well yeah I want Lost in the Echo to be a single but I really don't see why people think I'll be Gone is a bad choice
This is my least favorite song on the album. I also think it's just a mistake on Rolling Stone's part. Castle Of Glass would be a great single imo, and I think Lost In The Echo will be a single at some point too.
Probably because it sounds like an off shoot DBS track and like something that wouldn't even have a chance of charting on top 50, whereas LITE and COG do.
I'm assuming it's a fail on Rolling Stone's part, seeing as they called it the first single off the record, which it clearly isn't.
Why so much hate for IBG in this thread? It's probably one of my favorites on the album (although that changes all the time.) I think IBG should definitely be a single; just not the second single. The second single should be LiTE, for reasons specified by jasonmarks.
They couldn't have messed up because when interviewing Mike, they talk about I'LL Be GONE's relationship based theme as well as astronomy theme "stars are slipping down" "when the lights go out and we open our eyes, out there in the silence, I'll be gone" "let the sun fade out and another one rise" Really hope I'LL BE GONE is a single! After listening to LITE a few times, I feel like it really sucks, but maybe it'll grow on me. I like CASTLE OF GLASS though
