There has to be an easier way to make this into a poll for LPA members.

 

You'd have to have a poll for each song rating them 1-5, meaning 12 separate threads. I'm sure there's an easier way involving something more complicated than just manually putting them into a spreadsheet, but I'll be completely honest here and say that this spreadsheet makes it LOOK like I'm being productive at work, so I'll stick with that.

Well if you're using a spreadsheet and updating the results that works, but we could be using a solution like poll daddy, Google's polls (which dump data directly into a publicly viewable set of results) or something else and embedding it in the forums?

 

So what? There's a thread for like 10 out of 12 songs, just let the admins import a poll. I think that's possible.

Fair enough. In your final representation of the data as a cohesive chart, you might consider adding a third dimension to rate the consistency/frequency with which a song is voted up or down. If we represent each song as a circle, we can use the circles themselves as a metric to determine how variable the responses were. For instance, Until It Breaks might receive a larger circle since the community writ large was less capable of being consistent on it, whereas a smaller circle could represent more accuracy on the part of the community. In that way we could quickly eyeball which songs the community was consistent on.


EDIT: If anyone ever reads this I'm never getting laid again.

 

We've actually had a discussion on charting consistency. I wasn't going to seriously get into it until I got home.

 

That's probably for the best.
