I want them to try to write heavier music but with better lyrics (by that I mean lyrical content equal to the quality of their ballads) and less whiney.

I also want them to try a different approach to writing lyrics... I'm starting to find their lyrics slightly repetitive since they keep using the same metaphors (fires, flames, sun, sky, ocean, water, blah blah morphed into sadness or self destruction).

And anything else, I'm all ears to new experimentation.

EDIT: Also want them to try to incorporate more instrumental complexity (some solos, more advanced structure and progressions) and less synth. I really do like Living Things but it seems like it was built from Mike's toy box.

ATS/LT sound more like a pro-tools savvy technician's work than that of a talented group of musicians. The only thing that sounds alive and breathing to me on those albums are Chester's soulful delivery.

I'm completely fine with LP not doing so much experimentation anymore. I am very comfortable with their sound in Living Things.

That being said, It would be amazing if they created a record with just three or four songs, each around 10 minutes long. I'm probably dreaming now... xD

If their next album sounds anything like this, I will be disappointed. Push the boundaries!

I hope they experiment with more unconventional song structures like "Until it Breaks" I love the unpredictability.

We need more CRICKETS..... let Brad Delson shred the guitars and write lead guitar solos like led zeppelin... I want Joe to throw some heavy samples breakdown and super scratches... let Rob make more drum solos and less sampled beats.. More strings from Phoenix that is super stunning... and let Mike rap, and use keytar...

I think it's time for Linkin Park to start putting more positive lyrics into their songs. That would be amazing.

I want LP's 6th album to be Bluegrass music.

    Maybe some reggaeton as well.

LP is versatile enough to pull it off.

I would love to see LP takes their step in the trailer music ground. Like Two Steps From Hell or ES Posthumus. If anyone wondering about how would it sounds with vocal, check Les Friction (ES Posthumus revival).

Or they just try with Orchestra, Classical stuffs, I won't mind.

That would actually be very interesting. I would definetly look forward towards their next album if they use those elements.

They slightly dabbled on orchestral, classical territory with 'High Voltage' and 'Krwlng' to name a few.

Muse went for it and it was pretty rad:

I wish LP would make a sick album of just instrumentals like Tinfoil, Session, Pale, Halo, etc. Mostly electronic but with some live instruments in it as well. Something that sounds like LP mixed with Fort Minor instrumentals and Mike's VMA scores (like Catharsis). I think that would be awesome.

Edit: But not as far out as NIN's Ghosts, rather have it be more beat driven.

I would love any of these ideas

EDIT: Just read whole thread, I actually like almost everyone's ideas.

But one thing I did not see that I think would be different for the band is to release an EP. Like early next year or mid next year, release an EP and then two years after the EP, release an album.
