Linkin Park have been confirmed to play a private show at X Games LA 2012 on Friday 29th June. The band will play on the second day of the annual extreme sports event as part of a new initiative to be introduced in 2013 by X Games Officials know as X Games Music which, according to ESPN, aims to be "introduced as an additional cultural element to the X Games experience, one that defines the link between action sports subcultures and music". The gig itself will take place at Club Nokia located in LA Live, Los Angeles, CA and select tickets to the show wil be made available to the public via givaways on X games Facebook and Twitter so keep a look out for info on the giveaways! As things stand, this is scheduled to be the second performance by Linkin Park after the release of their upcoming album LIVING THINGS following their "mini concert" as part of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on June 27th. What do you guys expect to see from the shows? Do you think new material from LIVING THINGS will be played? These shows will be the first time Linkin Park perform new songs after the release of the album if they choose to do so. You can pre-order the new album scheduled for release June 26th here. These should be a fun couple of shows. Makes me curious if they'll play any new tracks from LIVING THINGS with the new album having been released by then. To be honest I expect the hits with maybe BURN IT DOWN and possibly, the yet unannounced new single from the album. Maybe.
I'd love to go to the X games, this would just make it all the more awesome. Hell, I'd love to be back in Cali right now.
