I wanted to share something I've just become aware of. http://www.humblebundle.com/ pay what you want to receive four indie games - Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Limbo, Psychonauts, and Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery. If you pay over the average contribution (which as of posting is $7.87), you also get Bastion. But wait, there's more. Not only do you get all of these games for as much money as you want, but you ALSO get all of their soundtracks in mp3 and/or FLAC. Holy shit you guys. I can't even begin to describe how great this is. The quality of these games is amazing. Amnesia is probably my favorite game of all time, Limbo is great, and all of the others were really well received too. You can also decide how much of what you pay goes to the developers, the humble bundle website, as well as a charity they support. more forms of media need to innovate like this. only 7 days left on this bundle!
Whoa whoa whoa, Psychonauts? I would've bought it either way, but now I'm not even waiting for my paycheck to clear.
Man, it's cool! Haha. And so cheap. And knowing that the money will revert to a good cause is very interesting and important.
I think a good way to go is if you've never played the game pay about $5.00. If you like them and play them often then buy the bundle again and if you hate them, well you still got some cheap games and some music.
So, after taking all day for the shit to download (gotta love 3Mbps internet ) I'm sure I'll be playing the shit out of these games.
I loved Bastion's gameplay and storyline, and especially the end of the game. I've played through it a few times with different gods enabled for a challenge, and it never gets old. Also it has one of the best soundtracks in a game ever, which is probably why it did so well at the VGAs last year.
Yeah I'm listening to the soundtrack now. Had I heard it last year, it definitely would have gone on my Top Ten Albums list for sure.
