I don't know how many of you are fans of Dry Cell and follow them closely, but I do. Recently Dry Cell signed with Epic Records, and their album is scheduled for a release sometime around Christmas. Also recently, vocalist Jeff Gutt quit the band because of creative differences. He wanted the band to be a generic rock band just to sell more records, but Judd, Brandon and Danny decided that they've worked way too hard to sell themselves out. Jeff quit the band because the creative differences were stifling the progression of the new album.
Yeah, the vocalist quit, but the core members are still there and they don't need a vocalist. Now they're just like Chevelle.
Jeff was the lead vocalist. Judd, the bassist, sang the backup parts. In "Sorry" and "Disconnected" he sings the really angry bridges.
My favorite songs are "So Long Ago" and "Forever Beautiful." Although, Jeff sings the most in those songs, I'm happy. He sounds too much like Chester and a lot of metal fans are going to love their music.
I agree. Jeff did sound an awful lot like Chester. It's probably the reason people where passing their song "Body Crumbles" off as "Ntr\mssion" from Reanimation. It's really evident at the beginning of "Under The Sun," Jeff sounds exactly like Chester. I'm actually glad he's gone, because now Dry Cell will stop getting compared to Linkin Park. I just hope that they can still be really successful. If they change their name I hope they pick something really unique, too... maybe Sentral Park.
That would be awesome if they turned into another Chevelle, musical talents are displayed heavily in that band.
So what's gonna happen with their album due out for Christmas, Will? Are they in search of a new vocalist? Please keep us updated!!!
