I don't really consider the ones with vocals unfinished for some reason, I think a lot of the ones we have are actually more or less finished songs, b-sides, but just didn't make the final cut. I would love to see Broken Foot with some vocals and finished, as well as Pale, that song is really cool.
a.06 the wizard song pale unfortunate AND that one from MOATS with the piano and harmonica or that one beat mike showed on the computer (don't know how to explain sorry)
techinally ATL is no demo. It's a final product (song) which didn't make the final cut of the record, i.e. MtM.
Soundtrack ! It doesn't really count, but I'd like to hear a final version of Fear (LOATR demo) but with Mike singing/rapping.
Judging by this logic though, No Roads Left and What We Don't Know are in the same boat, they're all '2007 Demos'. I'm not sure if you could count stuff like Blackbirds, Pretend To Be, etc because those were finished during recording for ATS right? So the only demos we can really choose are the instrumentals? I'm confused.
I'm pretty sure Blackbirds was finished during Minutes To Midnight. Across The Line is the only one they said they tweaked a little bit before shipping. We're still missing one b-side from the Minutes to Midnight sessions.
When did LP say they tweaked ATL before shipping? I thought that was Blackbirds, because it was released in early 2010, but the song can be heard on the making of MTM and it sounds different.
I'd have to dig through a lot of pages of stuff before I find the actual sentence in reference to that. I do remember though that Mike said that they worked on it a little more. It might be on his blog.
NRL isn't a demo, that's right there on the finished album O_O A demo is an unfinished song for demonstration. It doesn't matter when it was written. The bit that matters was that it isn't considered completed, which is obviously something subjective. That said, the band considered Dedicated a demo and I wonder what a version they consider done would sound.
I think the band is just really hesitant to say "b-side". If it has vocals and there isn't an updated version, I wouldn't call it a demo. On topic, Soundtrack would've made for an awesome ballad had the guitars not been so needlessly heavy. And, y'know, had words.
Program and Soundtrack are quality tracks wish they would have written lyrics for them, but i guess once they are out to the world this is their final state for good
No roads left isn't really a demo but it is something I would like to see become a little more. . . mainstream I guess. I would also love to hear a finished Grecian.
Broken Foot. Such an intense piece of work, such awesome headbangable material that would work with vocals. And Lockjaw simply because it's amazing
