LIVING THINGS Track "TINFOIL" Confirmed as Instrumental Interlude

The most ambiguous track on LIVING THINGS since the announcement of the track-list has arguably been track eleven, TINFOIL. The song hasn't been mentioned in any of the early preview articles in the past few days and due to its positioning on the album as track eleven, has been largely speculated as an instrumental song. The eleventh track has been a place-holder for instrumental songs on earlier Linkin Park records, namely Hybrid Theory and Meteora with Cure For the Itch and Session, respectively. TINFOIL is also the only track on LIVING THINGS that appeared as a working title during the creation of A Thousand Suns. The confirmation of TINFOIL being an instrumental comes from ARTISTdirect editor Rick Florino, who in response to a fan on Twitter confirmed the illusive TINFOIL will indeed be an "instrumental interlude".

No description of the song has surfaced via previews of LIVING THINGS, but it's good to finally put an end to the speculation of how TINFOIL fits into Linkin Park's fifth studio record. Based on what Mike has said about the lengths of each track being 3-4 minutes, and the album being 36-37 minutes, I'm more than certain it will be a full instrumental. I'm thinking Rick Florino didn't word his tweet correctly.

Yeah it would be dumb to throw in an interlude out of nowhere like that. Probably will end up being an instrumental. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

Well, if it is an interlude, the other tracks will be longer. But an interlude maybe wouldn´t make much sense. Anyway, an instrumental track is shorter, too, I think.

Also, LIVING THINGS is now officially very similar to Hybrid Theory in terms of number of tracks, position of an instrumental(Track 11) and length (Hybrid Theory is 37.52 and LIVING THINGS was clocked in at around 37 minutes via the Noisecreep article).

I was hoping they wouldn't just completely copy the album structure of HT and Meteora. But whatever, hopefully the track's short so the other songs are a tad longer. Although I'm interested in hearing Tinfoil still, seeing as how it was ranked higher than WFTE in MOATS.
