Castle of Glass is really piquing my curiosity.

Americana? Country? Folk? Creepy? Sounds interesting! Those are definitely some sounds the band hasn't played around with in an obvious way so i'm looking forward to hearing that!

 

Hell yeah! Looks like we will be hearing some folky LP after all, even if only in trace amounts Really really excited for Castle of Glass now. But the record's still basically two months away

I'm really pumped, looks like a lot of rap is going to be on the album!! Castle of Glass sounds cool too.

Dissapointed that the album was described as 'rap heavy'. For a band not trying to go back to your old ways, that sure doesn't sound promising. The rap in Burn it down was my least favorite part, if that's what we're going to be listening to then I'll be dissapointed.

 

These reviews got me amped up for the album again.

 

I understand not wanting the band to go back to their old sound, trust me, I've spent a shit ton of time on these forums defending Linkin Park's choice to move forward, but don't let more rapping make you feel like they're reverting.

Seriously. All it means is that this is a Shinoda-heavy album vocally. There's still a ton they could do with that that's fresh.

LIES GREED MISERY gaining serious points, and there is yet to be a negative comment about it.. Guys this one could be a real cracker. SO excited!

Still there are a few tracks which remain as mystery. We had already information about COG, IBG and LITE and now UIB now joins the batch.

Ted Stryker said yesterday that among his favorites were VICTIMIZED and ROADS UNTRAVELED apart from some of those named earlier, so we gotta keep an eye on any information about them. Still no information on TINFOIL , I'm still wondering if it's an instrumental or not.

 

Me want new album now.

Reading all these reviews just makes my butt tingle in excitement for this new album!

 

To my mind, that's like saying: "I'm disappointed to hear that Chester's singing a lot on this album..." or "I'm disappointed to hear Dave's playing a lot of bass on this album..."

Rapping is just what Mike does, and he's done it in ever era of the band, in all the various styles the band has undertaken. I don't think you can single out the rap element of Linkin Park as being a trait from their 'old sound'. It's just a vocal style/technique, it's not any particular indicator as to the band's current direction. I don't think you nessicarily need to worry just because there's rap involved!

All will be revealed soon though!
