Great, great interview! Very cool to see Mike talking about his favourite rappers - it's possible he's discussed that before, but I don't recall him ever saying much on that topic. Bit surprised to see KRS-One absent from the list (seeing as Boogie Down Productions was an influence of his) but awesome list all the same!

Lots of exciting album stuff here :D

Nowhere, you're exactly right. I must have confsued it with "hear a few tracks". My fault.
Nevertheless, a track-review would be nice.

If we EVER get a Shinoda interview, I can only hope it's as quality as this article was. Hands down one of the best interviews Mike has done in years. You really get an idea of where the band is at creatively and what we can expect from this album. I really think despite not having any "5-6 minute epics" this album is going to be a treat. I'm fuckin' pumped.

Now Mike, about that interview...hit us up if you're reading this!

Great interview. I'm glad to hear that there will be more rapping on this album. Mike's raps on HTEP, HT and Reanimation were often the highlights of songs to me. I'm curious if there will be much (if any) of Mike singing though. His singing in Burning in the Skies and Blackout were huge highlights to me and made the (relative) lack of rapping on ATS alright with me. I know I sound like a LP fan who can never be satisfied right now. haha

Until it breaks no confirmed to have rapping. BID has rapping, LITE has rapping, IMR most likely will have rapping so most likely four songs with rapping already. i think my prediction of 6 songs with rapping will be right

3 songs with rapping confirmed and most likely 4 songs with rapping so far that we know of

I didn't count BID as a song with rapping. It does have, but I refer to "rapping songs" as songs with rap on the main verses, so LITE and IME are the two we know of following that criteria. (Although the article does not quite state that IME is one of those, I just got the impression)

    You're not wrong though.

I have this feeling that LITE is gonna be very similar to papercut, i mean thats just a guess but it could be just as epic as papercut.

Nor tribal drums, nor industrial effects, nor "sub-bass boom".

But i see what LPHybrid Soldier meant. I think he could be right about the song-structure and the energy, though it's pure speculation at this point. :)

    Loved the Led Zeppelin reference.

Especially since TLTGYA and Stairway To Heaven are structured similarly.
