So you're saying none of that stuff was occurring when they had government? It's only after their government collapsed that those things occurred? You didn't point out anything going downhill. You need to compare before and afters to do that. If you compare the before and after, you'll see quality of life improved. Where in that link is limited government? Maybe I didn't read it carefully enough. All I saw was lots of wars and lots of kings.
It is limited government because power was concentrated into estates and counties. Lords had all the power; kings had none, and were in fact controlled by the lords.
