In one of the more interesting news stories as of late, it appears that Koda Pictures are working with Warner Music Group to develop a web-series called STAGED which uses lyrics from today's most popular artists, to form the dialogue for a post apocalyptic zombie thriller. Quoting the email sent to us by Max of Koda Pictures:"I recently produced a web series with Warner Music Group where we used the lyrics of Linkin Park as the dialogue to a post-apocolypic zombie thriller. I thought you and your readers would enjoy seeing the trailer. The episode comes out May 1st.

The web series, STAGED, is produced by Koda Pictures, Principato-Young Entertainment, and Warner Music Group. We take recognizable lyrics from today's most popular artists and use them as the dialogue for very dramatic scenes."

You may view the trailer below:

*Video has now been set to private

This series certainly appears to be rather interesting, and we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Update: Despite being a WMG sponsored production, this web series does not appear to be officially sponsored or approved by the band. DJ Joseph Hahn recently linked to this news thread on Twitter, and stated "They used to ask us first. I guess times have changed. Weak". Judging by this, it's safe to assume that the band likely does not approve of their music being used in this fashion. We'll update you as more becomes available.

Update 2: Since that tweet, the video has gone private. No information is currently available as to why it was made private, or if Linkin Park influenced that decision.

    I would expect nothing but cheesy-ness from a web-series.
    Especially one with this premise.

    I guess I'll watch it.

Even if Joe's serious, this is being done by Warner....involves the band's music, and thus is news. We've posted worse in the past .

What an awful thing. Haha omgosh.
Warner doesn't know how to make more money, do they?
Using part of Joe's comment, I'm offended lyrics will be attributed to crappy cheap horror scenes like that. Is artistical blasphemy. What's even the point?

EDIT: I dunno what the band thinks of this, but it reminds me of Dean Koontz, when they wanted to do a film out of his novel, and when they started to twist the story around, he just said to put out his name from the film, 'cause that was not his story anymore.
Now, we know how labels uses their "products" as they want with or without approval from the source itself, but I just hope this ridicolousness won't have a gramm of success (meaning the most minor procentage possible of people displaying it).
And please, LP, free yourself from a contract.

It looks like they're mocking the band more than anything.

I actually facepalmed when I saw the trailer. I think this episode will for once truly show how cheesy/ironic/terrible/childish Linkin Park lyrics have been in the past. So congrats to STAGED on proving LPs poor lyrics in the past. This was greatly exaggerated when the girl spoke the numb lyrics btw.
