Whoever sanctioned this needs to be shot out of a cannon.
What a fucking ridiculous idea, it makes me feel embarressed to be a Linkin Park fan.

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

I said, "Mike, I'm coming for you, homie"
Cause Mike's always got my back when I'm lonely
And I always got his back when we fight
I'm coming for you, Mike, Imma save your life

So judging by the fact Joe Hahn just linked to this thread (Hi Joe!) and said "they used to ask our permission to do this stuff", I'm guessing the band isn't quite happy that this is being done and that Warner did it without their consent. Unless of course Joe was only trolling and they signed off on it.

HELP THE LPA:
I've updated the news post to reflect Joe's disgust/disappointment in this. If anybody on staff can edit the "twitter" link to have an exact link to Joe's tweet referencing this it'd be appreciated. I'm at work.
Shit idea. OMG. :/ Please, someone kill Warner. Thanks.

They're the biggest band on Facebook, I think they can survive without a label.
I agree Derek. I was relieved to see that Tweet from Joe though. To think that the band would approve of something like this is cringe-worthy...
HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED PICTUREBOARD YET?
The cycle repeated as explosions broke in the sky
all that I needed was the one thing I couldn't find
And you were there at the turn waiting to let me know
We're building it up to break it back down
We're building it up to burn it down
We can't wait to burn it to the ground
The colors conflicted as the flames climbed into the clouds
I wanted to fix this but couldn't stop from tearing it down
And you were there at the turn caught in the burning glow
And I was there at the turn waiting to let you know
You told me yes you held me high And I believed when you told that lie
I played that soldier you played king And struck me down when I kissed that ring
You lost that right to hold that crown I built you up but you let me down
so when you fall I'll take my turn and fan the flames as your blazes burn
Ridiculous. F

Mikes reaction when he saw this:![]()
This irritates most of LP's fanbase. It must be good.![]()
I don't know, I think it's funny, but if Joe Hahn is saying Linkin Park didn't give consent since this project is Warner funded, it seems like it could start some trouble. I guess it's a marketing scheme, though, since the album's coming out, a good way to market is to put out a viral video. However effective it is, we'll have to wait and see.
So I guess I'll just re-post what I wrote in the first page, shall I?
What an awful thing. Haha omgosh.
Warner doesn't know how to make more money, do they?
Using part of Joe's comment, I'm offended lyrics will be attributed to crappy cheap horror scenes like that. Is artistical blasphemy. What's even the point?
EDIT: I dunno what the band thinks of this, but it reminds me of Dean Koontz, when they wanted to do a film out of his novel, and when they started to twist the story around, he just said to put out his name from the film, 'cause that was not his story anymore.
Now, we know how labels uses their "products" as they want with or without approval from the source itself, but I just hope this ridicolousness won't have a gramm of success (meaning the most minor procentage possible of people displaying it).
And please, LP, free yourself from a contract.
If the band is not content with this, they have good reason, whether "humorous" or not, it's SHIT. I don't even know how could THAT be considered "funny", it sucks on so many levels.
Warner still has a chance to stop that trainwreck from happening, but they won't, unfortunately.
^It's funny because it's so bad.
I'd just watch it so I can take the piss out of every little thing they do/say, haha.
