Listen to the song Lullaby... Burn It Down sounds very similar to it, except the chorus and the electronic elements of Burn It Down, the intro and the verse is not too much different...What do you think? Yes, I hear it. The chord progressions are exactly the same. Also, the beginning of the melody in the verse of the NB song is very similar to the one Chester signs on BID in the verses.
"very" similar? no. are there similarities? definitely. the song is structured almost the exact same way, the ups and downs and variations in the music come at almost the exact same places. same key I think too. verse melodies are similar. it's like a mellower, piano-based Burn It Down. and big lolz at the Linkin Park fans that don't want to acknowledge that their favorite band made a song that sounds sort of like one Nickelback song.
In all honesty I can't hear any similarities. Even with the explanations above I'm just not following. If there are similar progressions and melodies I can't tell because both have completely different sounds that construct the songs. But people thinking they are similar has me in such a tiff that I'm going to make a very serious, troll-like thread about how "Living Things'" mixer is ruining Linkin Park. That should solidify my sanity to the public.
Seriously, if count Structure as similarity there would be a thounsand songs that sound like Burn It Down, and I really can't see any similarity is this one. But if you compare BID with New Divide. yes, would be much more similar than this.
All people who say there's no similarity at all must have some major problems with their ears. i recommend visiting a doctor. Nevertheless the similarities are quite assessable and nothing dramatic.
Man, if we're going to start calling out artists for using similar CHORD PROGRESSIONS...
