After Oh Love, this song genuinely surprised me. Can't wait to hear what they're filling three albums with. Cautiously optimistic.
I can't put my finger on it, but this song sounds kind of...older almost? Like close to a classic punk song or something
My expectations for this album continue to plummet.
The song is making me want to kill any DJ who plays this. in case you couldn't tell; that was sarcasm.
It wasn't THAT bad... But I guess that's what happens when you record three albums at once, it's like if LP released/finished all the demos from the MTM session...
If they had problems with filling 3 albums with material, the obvious solution was to not record 3 albums. But I don't think that's the issue, since both Oh Love and Let Yourself Go are terrible too. I don't think it's a case of "too much and there's bound to be some mediocrity" as much as it is they themselves are convinced this crap is gold.
It's Green Day. They made a career of ripping off other bands. That said, I don't hate it. I dig it musically, but I can't get behind the vocal melody.
A clear attempt to sound like an Indie band. Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand. Just pick your coin.
My expectations are dropping again... I liked Let Yourself Go a lot, but this is just another disappointment...
Well, I like Oh Love and Kill The DJ too but I don't like Let Yourself Go's Instrumental. It's like a mashup between American Idiot and Welcome To Paradise. Come on GD leave Dookie behind, 21st Century Breakdown is an awesome album, it's like ATS for LP. I don't want the Dookie style back. Use the for fuck's sake. Well looks like LP is the only band from my favourites who doesn't went back to the old stylez.
I'll strongly disagree. I've given the whole album more chances than it deserves and I still can't get into it.
