Well this interview was probably taken a few months ago. Brad will have up to the minute info.... whether or not he gives us that info is another matter
This IS the most important update so far. The "organic sampling" as I'll call it reminds me of Arcade Fire a lot right now. I'm not expecting Linkin Park to be Arcade Fire but it sounds like they are employing the same use of atmosphere which is exciting to me. The Suburbs was the only rock album from 2010 that I liked better than A Thousand Suns. Exciting times!
I read these news threads and while speculation can't be avoided, I just can't understand why people feel the need to speculate so far as to hope that they put out "Linkin Parkified Coldplay" (sorry...it's late and I don't feel like going back through the thread for the citation), or to think that they are going to do "Song A verse + Song B chorus + Song blahblahblah" type speculation. I'm not trying to insult anyone, but why not just take the news, hope for some amazing music, and be done. When you expect so much or want so much, it has a tendency to ruin the actual music.
I can't wait for the next interview by a band member that contradicts this one. Until we hear a single, all is moot in the province of Mootania in the country of Mooto. And those praising Mylo Xyloto are lovable and goofy and wrong.
Yes, and, on that note, Shinoda's statement that the new album is "not completely focused yet" may well be outdated as well
