Just what I was thinking - Bleed It Out was infact the EXACT song I thought of when I read about this sense of a "rush" in the album. I would love to see this kind of song but taken to the next level: evolved and matured with what the band has learned from A Thousand Suns. Imagine the aggressive style of Bleed It Out with the structure of The Catalyst? THAT is what I want from the new album!
Yes! I've been waiting to hear some news from LP for a while. It's not a release date, but it is pretty informative despite the fact it's just a page. Now I'm really pumped up for the album. I just want to hear some new material, and from what Mike says it sounds like it's going to be good. I'm not going to try and imagine how it sounds that much because chances are it will be completely different.
Remember when that one page on Facebook said that they had some source that told them that were getting rid of the electronics? Funny shit. I'm so excited and it ain't even friday
Yeah but you could also be looking at sheer coincidence too, as this same source said the album was done, and all band members have since came out and said it's still being worked on. Reading over that paragraph again though, it certainly does suggest that they're going analog which is very interesting. It's still possible to make the "LP sound" without computers, but if they indeed are going analog what people will find in listening to the songs (since they're not using electronics/samples to make the sounds) is that it will sound a lot more organic and pure which is nice.
I'm looking at it as a coincidence, but it's still pretty funny. I doubt that they are going analog. Wouldn't that be a contradiction to being digital? But an LP album done in analog sounds fucking badass. Someone needs to suggest that to them!
I honestly doubt the band is going dubstep, considering the last paragraph in the article is all about their desire not to ride trends.
Let's just hope this album beats A Thousand Suns. I don't want them to de-volve from what they are now, you know? Having a mix of the old and new sounds is awesome, but I don't want teen-angst Meteora/Hybrid Theory lyrics. It was good for that time, but they're in their 30's now.
It was bugging me. I was actually worried about them going dubstep but that sentence was a big relief. I am huge lp fan. HUGE. But if Lp goes dubstep or coldplay I may jump ship on this album Lmao
Really don't get the hate people reserve for Coldplay. Mylo Xyloto was an impressive album, and Chris Martin can be a pretty decent songwriter on occasion.
You know that I enjoy Coldplay's music. But as for Linkin Parkified Coldplay sound, I just don't find that appealing. Perhaps taking some cues on their overall style (maybe). But definitely not a Coldplay style. I think people are interpreting the phrase too far. Layers, acoustic sounds, or piano driven would be the closest I see Linkin Park matching Coldplay's sound. I do like Coldplay, but I like different artists for a reason: so that I can entertain myself with different styles, not see copies.
