I got a feeling that it might sound a little like Coldplay's last album. A kind of atmospheric sound, and didn't Brad mention acustic guitars in a video chat?

BTW, I'm new here so: Hi, everybody! :p

Fantastic news! My favourite bit however and I'm surprised it hasn't been discussed yet is how he said the album should sound more like a "rush". Whether it means more aggressive still remains to be seen, but personally listening to ATS recently it feels TOO mellow. I'm excited for the idea of a faster album, even if it doesn't mean screaming and heavy guitars.

Error more than likely. Mike has repeatedly shut down any chance of FM releasing new material/going on tour anytime soon. His primary focus is Linkin Park, and it will stay that way likely for a long time.

Hey! Welcome to the LPA! LP mixed with Mylo Xyloto? Yes please!

Couldn't agree more. I'm looking forward to this new face-paced style of Linkin Park songs. There was a few on ATS, The Catalyst, When They Come For Me, but I think what makes the album feel so "mellow" is the interludes. They were necessary for what the band was looking to accomplish with the record, but it seems they are looking to go in a different direction here which is really exciting! Now, I don't want to read anymore little spoilers and quotes, just an album release date, you hear me, Mike?! :WTF:

Yeah, I feel the same. The only songs that are slightly aggressive are Blackout and Wretches & Kings....And "aggressive" used to be LP's middle name...

I'm already picturing what the album will sound like. Fast, not necessarily hard hitting but pumped up. Mike spitting dope raps left and right. Good rock songs, a more direct Chester.

Regarding the lyrics, not stuff like Wretches or Hands Held High, but more focused on how they feel about stuff.

There's no LP on that page at all. Nor did I expect there to be. Please do not post fake links in the future.

So, despite my trolltastic first post to this thread, I am beyond excited to hear the new album, no matter what direction it goes.

After reading this again, it seems like we can expect songs like Bleed It Out, what do you guys think?

Hmmm I don't know, I hope not to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I love MtM and Bleed It Out wasn't a bad song but I hated how Joe Hahn was kinda pushed back. I'm sure he still had a big influence on the songs but I liked how ATS again put him more up front.

However, Mike is now saying they won't really use samples soooo uhm yeah, Mr. Hahn? Please show yourself! :p

Not too much to talk about yet, but an interesting spark for imagination. Somehow I thought on Coldplay too, since the first scan a month ago (with the orchestration thingy), and if yes, I wouldn't mind, specially considered what Mike can add to a genre like that. An erectoblowmeaway album.
    Time will tell though.
