What exactly was Radiohead's impact on whatever after the release of OK Computer and Kid A? Was it some kind of a worldwide phenomenon? Or was it just the case of critics simply talking to themselves and magazines just trying to sell stories?
Just listening to Paranoid Android really gives me a clear indication to how crap Radiohead is as a band. And yes, I know you cannot judge a band by one song, but I will. Because everyone is like "Ok Computer is such a great album" blah blah blah yatta yatta ya something about Paranoid Android and then I listened to it, and my mind implodes. /twocentsandiswearsomeonelikeMinuswillnitpickatmeaboutitbutidontgiveacraprightnow
I lol'd. Here's a member of Radiohead describing Paranoid Android, taken from Wikipedia: "Colin Greenwood said that the song is "just a joke, a laugh, getting wasted together over a couple of evenings and putting some different pieces together." So, just so we're clear, THIS is the song you've chosen to judge one of the most critically-acclaimed bands of our generation by. If I were you I'd try giving the whole album a chance on Spotify or something. Or at least listen to a couple different songs.
Mind explaining HOW it is crap? I know we all have different opinions, but all you've said is "Paranoid Android is horrible blah blah blah Radiohead are a crap band blah blah etc" And you really can't judge a band off one song, practically every album from Radiohead sounds completely different, Kid A sounds nothing like Ok Computer, The King of Limbs sounds absolutely nothing like The Bends, etc. I can go on and on.
Linkin Park > Radiohead Nuff said. Opinion stated. No fights k? edit. And wikipedia should not be sourced. Minus should stay away from my bad ass then if you are going to reply with that.
I thought it was sarcastic. You're not a badass at all. Although since you took to politely adding a space between the two words, we're can assume you're not talking about how cool you are but rather how your posterior is in some way flawed or evil. In which case, I agree. I recommend aggressive chemotherapy starting immediately.
I find Radiohead really pretentious, they don't put anywhere near as much effort into their music as Linkin Park/Mike, Radiohead pick a direction and just go with it regardless of how radio friendly the material is, whereas Linkin Park worry both artistically and commerically about their music, and hit the nail on the head in both areas.
Well, what's wrong with that? Many of us want Linkin Park to do the same thing. As many "A Thousand Suns" fans might tell you, it's not effortless just because it sounds easy.
I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with it, i'm saying Linkin Park have got their mind on two things, whereas Radiohead are only worrying about one.. yet Linkin Park make better music IMO.
To say nothing of Linkin Park and Radiohead, I do really like when an artist is able to put across unusual and interesting ideas within an accessible format, and I'm a-okay with that making me like Patrick Bateman if it means I get to axe Jared Leto.
