They are either keeping this under wraps really well, or are not as far along as we think. Hopefully the first 1

Like I said before, I feel like we're in the same position currently as it was with A Thousand Suns in may-early June. The album came out less than four months after. The puzzles didn't begin until two months before the single. I do think that Linkin Park is purposely keeping album "making" news on the down low, but album hype will begin within the next two months. We're in a perfectly reasonable position right now if you think about it.

That's a bit premature.

The Catalyst was released August 2nd.
A Thousand Suns was released September 14th.

About a 6 week difference.

If this came out in mid August, it may be accurate the suggest the first single by the early part of July.
