Today we are featuring for download, a very unique collection of tracks for your listening pleasure from a Joe Hahn vinyl called "Tasty Gas Station Breaks From The Orient". Sent to us by an anonymous source, little is known about these tracks except that they appear to be from around circa 1999-2000, and were ripped from a vinyl Joe Hahn created himself to use during concert performances around the Hybrid Theory era. What makes these tracks special is the fact that many famous samples from Linkin Park's history ("I'd like to introduce", "and you do it like this", as well as the speech from Step Up, and the original female intro to "It's Going Down") are here in their unaltered form without any background tracks or musical interference at all. Also featured are certain instrumental breaks and clips from Hybrid Theory, making these tracks invaluable for anybody planning to remix Linkin Park's music.
From our understanding, these tracks have been circulating several file sites before our upload (infact our very source found it through a multiupload link that was given to them by someone else), so we weren't sure of their origin, and at first we thought that these might have been well known. However; after some research we did not see these posted on any major fan sites we felt we'd upload them to allow everyone to have a chance to listen. Our source tells me that Ivan Romanov owns the vinyl, so in the case he is responsible for these rips, special thanks go out to him for the original multiupload link if he was the one who uploaded it. Also, since it is uncertain if Joe Hahn ever wanted these to be released, if Joe or LP Management has an issue with these being up, please have us contacted and we'll remove them immediately!
To save initial server load, we are going to post the original multiupload link that these tracks were discovered on in the first place, an actual lpassociation.com download link will be made available later. Also, keep in mind that megaupload's link will no longer work due to the recent shutdown.
Update: This vinyl (or one similar) was used during Linkin Park's performance at Rock Am Ring 2001. See screencap below:
Update 2: LPA member Dr. Octagonapus has posted a very thorough track by track analysis of each sample, and some of these samples' origins. Read HERE and feel free to add to it if you wish.
