A.F.I....anyone else like them? I just bought "Sing For Sorrow" and it rocks My favorite songs are "The Leaving Song pt. 2" "Girls not Grey" and "Silver and Cold". I was gonna see them on the Warped Tour...but they're leaving the tour the day before it comes to MA!
yah, i only know like 3 songs, 2 of which are from Sing The Sorrow. i hear their older stuff is better, more hardcore. oh well, just gonna have to hear them for myself.
yea afi is hardcore..i like some of there new stuff better tho.. song i like by them are "a winters tale", "dancing thru sunday", "god called in sick today" and "this celluliod dream"
Here's a great RS article on them.... http://www.rollingstone.com/features/featu...id=1606&cf=6201 Excerpt: Davey Havok gets pissed when you call him punk. Orhardcore. But go with goth, and you'll really offend. "Just because I wear eyeliner?" he asks before launching into a lecture on how his band's dark, aggressive music defies classification. Call the AFI frontman a Madonna impersonator, though, and he's goddamn thrilled: "Oh, please! I wish I had her body!" He's right. He isn't hardcore.
AFI are pretty good.. My favourite songs are The Boy Who Destroyed The World and Days Of The Pheonix..
I downloaded one song but it isnt very good. I couldnt find any of the songs you all recommended but I will look again tonight!
I'll check out their new stuff another day. I'm pretty happy with their old stuff. Favorite songs include "Wester," "Totalimmortal," and "Lost Souls."
I like the cover of Totalimmortal that Offspring did but I don't like the A.F.I. did for some reason :wth: Girls Not Grey is a great song though
I like both versions, but for me, AFI's version is better.
i haven't heard the Offspring version, but i really do like AFI's version of it.
those first three are my all-time afi faves! afi is really great, sing the sorrow surpasses some their past work, but other works by them, like black sails in the sunset and the art of drowing... theyre just better. chech 'em out. you'll be glad you did. davey (davey havoc... the lead singer) has one the most interesting voices in modern music... in a good (very good) way.
i haven't heard the Offspring version, but i really do like AFI's version of it.
You should check it out.........The cover was on the Me, Myself And Irene soundtrack I think but I still can't figure out why
