So from what I can derive..the next 6 months will be more-so an on/off cycle between rest and very brief periods of touring.
Realistically, here is how I see it: the final half of 2011 could merely be a culmination in brief efforts of brainstorming ideas and sounds, whilst the first three quarters of 2012 will include the big bulk of the work being put in. Perhaps by late summer-to-fall of 2012, the buzz around the band's next record will be in full throttle, resulting in a Spring 2013 release.
Yeah, it's fun to play the guessing game.

The thing that got me interested was the "speaking to people, not at people"
I'm really interested to see how they evolve lyrically in this next one, because "The Catalyst" was borderline what he's speaking of. (To me)
As for the "polarized response", I don't have too much of an opinion and or objection on a "Hybrid Theory Pt.III", though, I doubt that is what he implied. I think he meant something that has rebounded straight from the ATS style to an opposite of that specifically, not quite a polarization of their journey as a band.
... I do hope they come out with a bit more substance this time though, A Thousand Suns was an amazing piece of art, but it just felt like something was missing to me.
