I really like the beat and the lo-fi sound of the vocals on this track. Then again, I mean, it's the Beasties. They don't put out bad music.
It's so delightfully old skool. I love it! EDIT: The video's audio was replaced to to copyright issues though. Fucking RIAA bullshit.
Wait, why does Adrock look so much like Chester as a police officer? xD CAN'T WAIT! Love the Beasties!
Fight For Your Right Revisited is being premiered on VH1 on 4/20 if you guys want to check it out. It will be censored (no shit) but should still be epic. Source: Some Kind Of Awesome
The music video for Make Some Noise has premiered. http://www.mtv.com/videos/beastie-boys/644573/make-some-noise.jhtml?xrs=share_twitter
Just heard the whole album and I don't understand how these guys are so famous. Maybe because its the first time I've heard a song from these guys or maybe because im used to modern rap. I'm not saying they are bad but this music is a part of the previous generation, kids of today will not listen to this. All that said, Make Some Noise is a dope track.
You act like music being a part of the previous generation is a bad thing. Or that kids of today not listening to it is a bad thing. I'm sorry to hear that this is your first time actually knowing who the Beastie Boys are. They were one of the main proponents of hip-hop going mainstream in the 80s. Not to go the route of "Music these days is crap," because there are quite a few standout artists, but you don't hear shit like this anymore:
I had heard of them before but never listen to a song by them properly but now that I have, I really like them. I can totally see why these guys made hip hop famous, the beats are good, the lyrics are good. But really, do you think they will sell quarter as much albums as they did in the 80's? All I'm trying to say is that they will not sell very well, but maybe im wrong.
Seeing all the hype that Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 has gotten, with the 30 minute film and all the promotion they are putting out there, I wouldn't see why it wouldn't sell well.
Just because you had never heard of them until now doesn't mean they aren't going to sell albums. They were and still are very much a big deal. Do you think NAS of all people would get on one of their tracks because they aren't as big? Or that Snoop Dogg would do Paul Revere live with them because they aren't as strong? They're still very much a big deal.
