Thought the thread name would be amusing, if not dense and condescending. What are your thoughts on the lockout? Do you side with the owners or the players? Who is your favorite team? How much do you hate Jerry Jones or Michael Vick? Discuss here.
Oh cool, another thread about football. Yeah, tonight's games were great. I hope Real and Schalke meet in the final and then Raul scores 3 goals.
Considering that America is pretty much the only country that calls Football 'Soccer', I'm renaming this thread.
I was kidding. I just thought it'd be funny. Anyways, I'm loving the lockout mostly because everyone around here has been saying, "This is the Cowboys' year!" And now I get to laugh in their faces. In real life.
While we're at it, let's open threads about curling and darts, maybe people would like to discuss those interesting sports too
Not Dallas, that's for sure. I haven't had a team for a long time. Much like basketball, I really only keep track of specific players.
I gotcha. I live in Chicago, but part of my family's from the UP of Michigan, only 90 miles away from Green Bay. So I'm a Packers fan living in Chicago. Haha! I'm also a fan of the Chargers. My family was supposed to move to San Diego when I was a kid and My brother and I embraced different teams from California. My brother always liked the Raiders and for a long while, I liked the 49ers. I quit liking them sing they were in the NFC and switched to the rivals of the Raiders, in the Chargers to spite my brother. Despite my origins in taking interest in the team, I have since embraced them as my AFC team. I've always, however, been a Packers fan. If it came down to a superbowl between The Packers and The Chargers, I'd have a tough time chosing who I'd want to win...
I can take a year off from football. Since the damn packers won the superbowl I can go a year without hearing "the defending super bowl champion GB packers". Bring on baseball
I was a Raiders fan while Jerry Rice was on the team. After that, I had no reason to like them anymore. Especially considering their performances rival that of the Cowboys.
I have a few favorite teams. Seahawks (I grew up in the Seattle area, plus they were cheated out of Superbowl XL, fucking Steelers -__-), da Bears (I was born around Chicago), and the Patriots (they kick too much ass not to like em).
I don't like the Patriots. Also, the Seahawks didn't get cheated. They lost that with good reason. Despite a few botched calls in the 4th that wouldn't have affected anything at all whatsoever (they were in fact, 2 possessions behind), they had some horrible time-management issues and rightfully lost.
And I did say that there were botched calls in the 4th quarter. The Seahawks would've still lost. Given the time made up through a correct officiating session, the Steelers would've been in possession of the ball sooner towards the last minutes and been able to score again, rather than kneeling it. Face it. The officials may have screwed up TWICE, but the Seahawks screwed up far worse.
Huge Packer fan over here. If there's no NFL next year, then I guess the Packers will be defending Super Bowl Champions for a guaranteed one more year American Football is much better than Europe Football. Actually, it's the best sport in the world. Anyone wanna fight about it? Try me.
